Only half though. A lot of people voted for Kamala, if you think about it.

Only?

Half siding with a fascist is a big deal.

That these elections are so close tells you everything you need to know about the American people. That is not some elite's fault or some bad luck. That's an honest signal of America's development and maturity, or lack thereof.

I hope something truly disastrous happens in February 2025 or March 2025 so we don't have to have a long-drawn out process of blood leeching from American wealth (personal and financial).

Okay, maybe a bad take but idk...

Let it be know: you can’t disregard, let alone denigrate the working class men of a nation, without them coming back bonified against those who turned their back on them.

Liberal echo chambers will continue to cocoon themselves away from the pulse of their countries whilst populists gain traction. Liberals and democrats have 4 years to learn and integrate aspects of their society they  think they’re too good for.

I am beyond shocked and depressed.

I really thought Lichtman, Michael Moore, and political scientist Rachel Bitecofer were all going to be correct in predicting Harris winning, especially after how disastrous the Republicans did in 2022 and given their outstanding track record of predicting elections and great understanding of US political history.

I thought that the country would be sick and tired of Trump and I thought that Harris was the new kind of hope and change that the country wanted like Obama in 2008. The polls showed that she was the most popular Democratic nominee since Obama in 2008. I also thought Walz was super popular and really a great counter to Trumpism.

So, how are we going to be able to stand up and fight back against Trumpism without getting arrested by Trump?

How do we remain hopeful for the future of our country?

Do you think that we will ever have another Obama-like or FDR-like president who will be able to turn this country around in the future?

Close to 70 million votes for fascism & authoritarianism .. it’s insane. This changes the course of American politics forever.

This falls squarely on the American public.

The same American Public made the sensible choice 4 years earlier. So what changed now? The Public or the incompetency of the candidates?

Nothing that the democrats do are resonating with the public, unlike in 2020. They could not even make a single post appealing to men. Not even a few words. Not even black men. No man at all. They are willing to bend their back for black latino women of color. And you think America should bend to this low life identity politics. A lot of men have internalized trauma which characters like Trump and Tate leveraged to max.

Democrats do not empathize enough with the general population, and it shows.

Let's say complacency is what got them in 2016, and they were caught off guard. But no excuse in 2024. This is the time to look into yourself and do some soul searching.

You cannot claim to be high on empathy while rooting for 1% of the population while ignoring the plight of the 99%.

But then how do you explain The Republican party having lost badly in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023 by such historic dimensions?

I am not shocked at all. This was quite predictable. People vote for people who vibe with.

Kamala does not have vibes. She was a DEI pick of the dems and could not garder enough support even within her own party. Think about it. And you expect her to win the hearts of the entire country??

Any decent well put together white male would have won them the election. Biden without dementia was perfect for this. But dems in their arrogance denied the obvious symptoms of dementia. how about you accept the facts first?

I do not have a problem with Kamala, if she was elected and got approval within the democratic party. Maybe that is how a democracy is supposed to work. The party acted too clumsy that they got stuck with her because Biden and her raised all the funds.

You guys are appealing to the wealthy minority and not even asking for the votes of the everyday average American. Basically you are in your own bubble. There was nothing shocking about this.

I mean in my opinion the best choice was so obvious, she shouldn't even have had to campaign.

The fact that she had to work for any votes (beyond what she did before July) is itself an indictment of the American public.

Because democrats put a straight white male and not some sloppy DEI hire?

Republicans do not know how to win an election. They only pump their chest on macho masculinity and that is all they do.

So take advantage of that put a male candidate. And I do not know the dynamics of all these elections. I am explaining why dems lost the 2024 election.

No. Enough of this nonsense.

This falls squarely on the American public. They were given the clearest choice between decency vs pure corruption, authoritarianism, and hyper-capitalism. They made their choice and revealed who they are.

Question is, is America officially brickwalled and past the point of any social progress?

I think this is a signal that America is way past its peak and now in a downfall. Not sure what people need, exactly, to wake up, but I have a feeling it would take something extremely catastrophic. America has been isolated and pretentious about itself for too long, and all factors of independent growth are now off the table.

It’s ok to be salty too for a while.

Accept your saltiness. Accept your anger.

Would have been nice if it was a great candidate where most people rooted for her/him but i guess it was not in the cards.

Salt mines are open for business. Jokes aside, liberals misunderstand the currents behind populism, including a lot of this forum tbh. All they can think is racism, facism - never mind the fact we already had Trump in office for four years.

I think you're spending time in an echo-chamber and getting your news from within this echo-chamber aswell. This was so obviously going to be a Trump win. Im not even american but been following the thing and these results were expected. I think if you watch the liberal MSM as your main-source of info you will get a very distorted picture of reality.

I think they would need good politicians/candidates for a start. Those two weren’t that.
