I do think there's a potential flaw in this method of knowing, though. Using spirituality as an example, what proportion of highly intelligent people do you believe would reject the claim of spirituality existing in the literal sense? For that matter, what proportion of all people on the planet do you think would have a solid grasp on what it actually is?

I'm not completely ignorant to what you're trying to express here, but using popular acceptance as a marker for truth has failed humanity in the most hardcore way imaginable. There has to be a better way to know what's true.

I should have been more clear. I'm not making an appeal to authority. No one should accept the claim based on the fact that highly intelligent and integrous people mostly all seem to agree with it. So it shouldn't be used to "know" what is true, but rather, an undeniable truth that needs reconciled.

The way I see people reconcile it is simply by lumping the most advanced beings on the planet in with biased lefty dumb-dumbs, all while echoing the same sentiments shared amongst the least advanced people on the planet.

This could be a clue for anyone who actually wants to snap the fuck out if it.

I get what you're saying, but I'd pretty strongly contend with this statement as well. Having a sharp intellect is impressive, but I don't know how well it compares to the liberation of a sense of self, a consistent revelation of infinity, and a clear viewing of reality "as it is" (extreme mindfulness of the present). I'd consider beings like that to be the sleeper most advanced, with implications we don't really understand yet. To be clear, I'm not claiming that's me, but I do aspire.

Sorry though, I'm pretty sure this is besides the point you're trying to make. I just felt compelled to comment from a spiritual angle, since my disagreements stemmed from there.

I gotcha. Thanks. I'm glad you pushed back because you made me make finer distinctions on some things.

Yeah, I'm not including spiritual development in my thinking here. Just cognitive and integrous. Not simply cognition. As we can see, many intelligent people dispense with integrity, but people with decent cognition and high integrity are almost always anti-Trump.

What I mean by integrous is the ability to be honest, value the truth, high awareness of when you're bullshitting yourself, and highly valuing not bullshitting yourself and others, and doing the right thing, morally speaking.

See, truth often gets in the way of baser drives, and to accept them often means you have to surrender things you might not want to. When you see your own devilry, it doesn't feel good, and this is why most people would rather not be aware of it. So, people with decent cognitive development and high integrity are mostly all anti-Trump.

See, I'm aware of my devilry when I condemn Trump and Trumpism, and I often experience negative feelings about it when I reflect. But the reason I do it is because I can't stand by while the truth is assailed liked this. Most people would push those negative feelings out, reject them, and try to avoid them at all cost, but people with integrity don't do that.

Integrity is key, not just the good epistemology. Also, spiritual people are not necessarily integrous.

But this added nuance makes my original argument inaccessible. haha

Good distinction, it's difficult to argue there's not some real truth here.

Very interesting, I see the method behind the madness.

I think with the qualifier that the spiritual transformation is authentic, integrity probably is a trait that commonly receives a significant boost, mainly due to its resistances dropping away as someone gets chiseled down to their core. I guess I can't say for sure whether this is true in all circumstances, but I do currently think of it as a natural consequence.

Yeah, this would be a very interesting contemplation. I think there's at the least a very high correlation. I wonder if Osho would be a good example of how advanced spiritual development and integrity don't necessarily go hand in hand.

It's possible he's an outlier or something, because there's plenty of controversy surrounding his actions, but I also find myself wondering just how advanced some of these figureheads actually were. It seems to me that they make the claim of high spiritual attainment, and then it's simply taken for granted to be a fact. Same with others like Peter Ralston, or really almost anyone else in this area of expertise.

Before I fully buy into a teacher's authenticity, I like seeing some objective verification. Perhaps a demonstration of their physiology that reflects the changes to their consciousness, like an EEG with patterns representative of deliberate subconscious/unconscious accessibility.

If I really wanted to, with all my years of intellectual study into spirituality, I could put on quite a show myself and use fancy words to give the impression of legitimate worthiness. But it'd ultimately be a facade, and I'd hope people would be able to sniff me out by my BS leaking through the cracks.

I guess we're way off topic for the thread, though. I just couldn't help myself in giving my two cents.

Edit: Also, I'm reading now that Osho did submit for EEG testing, so who the hell knows what to think, lol.

Donald Trump simulates oral sex on stage

Jesus Christ. For more context:

He said "Do you want to see me knock the hell out of people backstage?", referring to the people who set up the mic. Then he went on to say that because he had to hold the mic with his hand, he's blowing out his left arm because "these stupid people", again, referring to the people who set up the mic.

Then, at the end, for some strange reason, he enacts giving a blowjob to the mic and said "I had to do it", while his supporters cheered. Fucking weird shit. This should be blasted over the airwaves. Everyone should share it on their social media.

'Trump enacts oral sex on microphone after angrily wishing he could "knock the hell out of the stupid people" who set it up. '

Or "Trump performs random sexual maneuver while angry"

Time to sow some cognitive dissonance.

Microphones are haunted lately, it seems.

Speaking of which, here is a song by Linkin Park with Mike Shinoda rapping about the corruptions of the Bush administration back in 07. The song still is relatable to what is going on today

So much pain, we
Don't know how to be but angry
Feel infected like we've got gangrene
Please don't let anybody try to change me

Me
Just me
In the middle of a sea full of faces
Full of faces
Some laugh some salivate
Whats in your alleyway
Recycling bins or bullet cases

Its not equal
Its not fair
Were different people
But were not scared
We ain't never scared
To pave a new path
Make a new street
Build a new bridge

Say can you see by the dawns early light
Free slaves running
Songs words weren't right
Now a new days coming
The few stay stunning while the many are handsome
Your soul is alive but they want it for ransom
The base drumming is the anthem
We step to the heartbeats of our granddaughters and grandsons
And

Rise together
We rise together

Lost hope and found need
Grounded by our surroundings
Did the walls scream universities
Or you and I verse the tees
React automatic and we burst when squeezed
And make 9-11 each emergency
Urgency amber to red like the turning leaves
Oh please let the hurting cease
Don't let apathy police the populace
We will march across
Those stereotypes that were marked for us
The answers obvious
We switch the consonants
Change the sword to words and lift continents

Rise together
We rise together

If you believe in redemption
I'm calling to you from another dimension (Repeat)

In Michigan:

Jill Stein, Green Party, is surpassing Harris in the polls.

The survey from the Council on American-Islamic Relations found that Stein took the support of 42.3% of Muslim voters to Harris’ 41%.

The critical swing state of Michigan is home to more than 240,000 Muslims.

Many of their leaders, like Rep. Rashida Tlaib, have refused to back Harris’ campaign.

There is a real chance that Harris may lose this state, and thus the election, due to this single voting demographic. Even Vaush agrees that if Jill Stein is successful is pulling enough votes from Harris to turn this state for Trump, then it will be entirely 100% the Democrats fault, not even Jill Stein would be to blame.

P.S. I did vote for Stein.
