2024 Election Discussion General

If truth is the guide, there's no need for ideology, right or left.

Maturity in discussion means the ability to separate ideas from identity so one can easily recognize new, irrefutable information as valid, and to fully integrate it into one’s perspective—even if it challenges deeply held beliefs. Both recognition and integration are crucial: the former acknowledges truth, while the latter ensures we are guided by it.

It doesn't matter if MAGA do a riot as long they lose. No riot is gonna overtake the legit government.

The only thing that matters is if they win and get given the keys to the kingdom. Then they will trash the kingdom like a gaggle of ravenous hyenas, defacating on their way out the door.

Do you still stand by your predication made on the blog or do you think there is a good chance Kamala might win this?

More lawsuits to come. This election will not end up with a clear winner. The transition of power will not be smooth one.

They're already claiming fraud in PA and Elon is spreading it on X. I suspect it will amp up very soon, and even more will believe it this time around because last time it was just Trump and his band of nobodies claiming it, but this time he has many influencers like Elon who will also spread the message. If Trump loses, my guess is 90% of Trump voters will be on board with election denialism.

By the way, I’ve been meaning to write this but it keeps slipping from my memory.

But to the moderator who featured my thread, thank you!

I will request that once the election is concluded, this thread is to be closed, and I will create a new thread discussing the victor.

@Leo Gura still feeling a Trump victory? It'll be a nail biter.

Don’t get complacent. The Yankees can still win the World Series after getting their assess kicked for a while there.

Oh wait, they lost, nevermind xD

What have the Dems become. From champagne liberals to campaign Cheney. Kamala - a prosecutor with a passion for putting people behind bars, cozying up with neocons who treats entire nations like cases to prosecute.

Democrats have aligned themselves with the very malignant forces that wield power against people at home and abroad. Big tech, big pharma, big war criminals (usually bipartisan anyway)

They use lawfare to silence dissent within their ranks. RFK, Bernie, Tulsi. No wonder people are jumping ship, including jumping states as Texas becomes popular. Californian cities have become a case study of haphazard progressive policies gone wrong. Their “Soft on crime”  approach is negligence dresses up as compassion.

Just a woke crusade, progress parade - but as deadly as a Cheney backed campaign.

PS Trump is just as bad in his own way, including the fringe crazies of his support base. The only hope is his team. It’s X-men vs Ex Men - that’s what Dems believe right? That women can become men or that men can give birth 🫃🏻

The final time stamp on “the realignment” is interesting. RFK said that Trump admitted he doesn’t know what he’s doing or how to run shit and that he needs him on board to help.

So my family voted for Kamala Harris two days ago. I'm glad.

My name is Victoria.

How high is the chance that Trump would not be too bad after all?

This question comes from daringly naive perspective.

Still I'm curious, how high do you guess is the probability of Trump repeating his first term & how over inflated are the 'doomy gloomy world ends' scenarios people talk about in relation to Trump's potential 2nd term? I mean, he's a corrupt business man, not a Hitler or Putin. I don't think he is interested in WW3 or disasters for his own country. So how bad could it be?

Just to be clear, I would vote for Harris and I understand how bad it could be, I'm just curious how probable it is and how much over inflation of worst case scenarios there is. I'm trying to form a clear sober picture of the actual situation and risk here.

Like should I be packing my bags and flying to Argentina kind of thing...

I hear he surrounded himself with better people now than what he had in his first term. Could be better, who knows.

I heard the opposite haha although it would be interesting to see what Elon Musk would do if he audited the federal gov. I'm sure some selfish stuff to help his businesses, but surely he'd also make it more efficient because he's such a cut the BS business guy. Maybe a net positive?

Not at all. Look into what he actually did as president.
