true friendship - some thoughts

“To you, I can come without having to wear a uniform or recite the Quran; I don’t have to give up a piece of my inner home. In your presence, I don’t need to apologize, to defend myself, or to prove anything; I find peace. Beyond my clumsy words, beyond the judgments that might mislead me, you simply see the human being in me. You honor in me the messenger of a faith, certain customs, and particular affections. You question me as one questions a traveler. I, like anyone, feel the need to be recognized, and in you, I feel pure and come to you. Neither my confessions nor my demeanor have taught you who I am. Your acceptance of what I am has made you tolerant of my posture and confessions whenever necessary. I am grateful to you for taking me as I am. What use is a friend who judges me? If I invite a lame man to the table, I ask him to sit, and I do not expect him to dance.”

What a profound impact such a person would have in your life. But what if, maybe, you could be one of them?

I would like to reach a point where I’m this for someone. Don’t think I ever have been.

Thanks for sharing <3

Yeah, the point is act like that with everyone. If anyone don't accept you, he could go to hell. I put my truth in the table without contemplating if the other will like or accept. If I don't do so, I'm humiliating myself a lot in front him. Then, many will reject you and some will accept you without reservation. Over all, you will accept yourself without reservation.
