Applying Leo’s Teachings

13 posts in this topic

Let’s Begin a discussion on applying Leo’s teachings when we interact and discuss matters on the forum. Leo’s work is complex and sprawling and it’s unclear who here even watches the episodes to completion. However, it is clear while reading through the forum that very little is being applied, or even explored actively on the forum.

Here are some questions for you:

1. Have you watched all of Leo’s videos?

2. Do you take notes when watching Leo’s videos? Do you contemplate the points made from the videos?

3. Have you read or started reading the booklist?

4. Do you consider yourself serious in self actualisation work?

5. What about Leo’s work in particular do you find interesting and useful. It’s apparent to me that due to the sprawling nature of the work you may not be interested in certain subjects.

6. Have you taken the life purpose course and are you working towards your life purpose?

7. What subjects does Leo talk about that you are struggling with right now?

I’d like to see more discussion on the forum of Leo’s work, or more of it being applied here. I’d like to see more maturity and earnest interest in personal growth, spiritual development and application of Actualized principles.

Leo’s work has changed my life.

I started about 5 years ago and it has been an amazing journey

my answer is yes to the first 4 questions and the sixth one .

for number 5, the most interesting thing for me is the diversity of perspectives on life. Leo introduced me  to so many concepts that are practical like raising your level of consciousness, building good habits and finding your passion.

for number 7, I’m mostly struggling with subtle addictions to my phone specially because everything is so convenient now days but I’m trying to find a good balance everyday.

7. What subjects does Leo talk about that you are struggling with right now?

1) Just about, except for the very early ones

2) Unless it is technical and specific, note-taking is not my style of learning. I find it too distracting. I'd rather just listen, absorb and sort it out later

3) I've read a fair amount from the booklist but many I have not. There is simply too many books to read everything I'd like to, and quite frankly I no longer feel many of them would benefit me.

4) Yes

5) The sprawling nature of the way Leo operates is perfect for someone like me. I always need to be pushing my understanding, otherwise I get easily bored. If Leo just talked about the same things over and over, I would have left a long time ago

6) I've not taken the course but I do feel on track for my LP

7) I'd like to understand extreme states of consciousness that are probably only available via psychedelics. But I'm also not a big psychedelic user, so that has been challenging to figure out. I suppose at some point I'll just have to bit the bullet.

I bet that 90% of people are just intelectually consuming Leo's work.

Full embodiment is rare. That's why I think he started to build a new course around it.

If you see all over the internet, we have thousands of resources, books, videos, courses, gurus, practices.

Real transformation/embodiment is the real challenge.

I have been doing this for most of my life...perhaps I started a little early but I was not asked if I wanted to do it.

Admittedly, I have failed miserably.

1. Have you watched all of Leo’s videos?

Yes

2. Do you take notes when watching Leo’s videos? Do you contemplate the points made from the videos?

Some Episodes like Traps on Life,How to Love, the Solopsism one, What is Actuality and others I have printed and highlithed. Copy Pastes of many Blog entries on my CommomBook with my own commentaries.

3. Have you read or started reading the booklist? Many I had read long ago before meeting the list. Others still need to read but not able yet to invest time and money on it

4. Do you consider yourself serious in self actualisation work?

Sometimes I give myself a break. Not break from Meditation but from Trying to Desconstruct more Reality. As Leo say, this shit is tirersome when you go deep.

5. What about Leo’s work in particular do you find interesting and useful. It’s apparent to me that due to the sprawling nature of the work you may not be interested in certain subjects.

Survival,Self bias,Actuality, Direct Experience is King, Being Aware of Deceptions, and basicaly the Truth that no Other will come to save me from the Inner work I must do.

Have you taken the life purpose course and are you working towards your life purpose?

I didnt bougth it

7. What subjects does Leo talk about that you are struggling with right now?

Career Changes,Moving to another Place, some Stuckness

Here are some questions for you:

1. Have you watched all of Leo’s videos?

No. Have watched all his 'start here' and 'foundational' videos. Plus probably around 50+ other vids, I'd guess.

2. Do you take notes when watching Leo’s videos? Do you contemplate the points made from the videos?

Took notes on most of the start here and foundational videos. Nowadays concentration difficulties mean I only really listen to his videos in the background. I find I sort of daydream contemplate about his videos a fair amount.

3. Have you read or started reading the booklist?

Have gone through various books on the list. However, sort of skim through most of them for gems. I have issues paying attention to anything, so is a challenge.

4. Do you consider yourself serious in self actualisation work?

Yes

5. What about Leo’s work in particular do you find interesting and useful. It’s apparent to me that due to the sprawling nature of the work you may not be interested in certain subjects.

Ego development content, and meditation are what I find most interesting

6. Have you taken the life purpose course and are you working towards your life purpose?

Tried it before. Not currently working towards my LP. Currently all my focus in on overcoming a debilitating mental disorder. My plan is to focus on LP as soon as I am able.

7. What subjects does Leo talk about that you are struggling with right now?

Shadow work

@Thought Art I consider there is a broad ignorance on the work of Leo Gura and its implications. I have come to the conclusion that their approach is casual in nature and not their Life Purpose.

I'm quite in tune with metaphysics, epistemology and sexuality. I'm still working hard in self development, politics and history.

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty. We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Virtuous and Conscious. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life God is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, ... Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

1. Have you watched all of Leo’s videos?   cherry-picked maybe 20-40?

2. Do you take notes when watching Leo’s videos? Do you contemplate the points made from the videos?  Have before, mostly sit and contemplate

3. Have you read or started reading the booklist? Was not aware of Leo's book list

4. Do you consider yourself serious in self actualisation work? yes, fairly serious, been following as a big fan at least for many years, living and learning semi-seriously semi-fucking off

5. What about Leo’s work in particular do you find interesting and useful. It’s apparent to me that due to the sprawling nature of the work you may not be interested in certain subjects.  Going meta, the more extreme videos such as his awakenings/post-trips , or deeeep stuff

6. Have you taken the life purpose course and are you working towards your life purpose? No, I am working towards a greater purpose and committed to evolving myself to get there

7. What subjects does Leo talk about that you are struggling with right now? Probably the more practical application like meditation practicing, journaling, etc.

1. I started with "start here" section in https://www.actualized.org/start, I watched all the intro videos, and the foundational videos, and afterwards I watched a lot of the new videos, but I think even though Leo changed my life, he has nothing more to offer, his content is repetitive to me at this point.

2. I do take notes on books and videos, but not Leo's, I used the actualized textbook and summaries thread to review stuff.

3. I have a goal of reading all the 5 starts in the booklist, I have read a fair amount so far (I also have the goal of completing Daniel berger list, which I find more serious and intellectual).

4. yes

5. it is rare to find someone or content that doesn't hold a specific worldview as sacred, questions all world views and uses all lenses, he even questions spirituality, that's what I like.

 6. yes, and yes

7. I am struggling with doing stuff I don't feel like doing, but I am disciplining myself and trying to enjoy it.

First and foremost, my pronouns are xim/xer. Any misgendering after reading this, will get reported to the mod.

Before answering this question, I want to acknowledge that I am on the traditional territory of the Tsimshian aboriginals. The Canadian government has been working with the Tsimshian aboriginals eversince the creation of Treaty 8. We will always remember and not forget.

I will be quoting every question to accomodate neurodivergent people. I am not joking, and everybody who assume my emotional state while reading this will get reported to the mod.

I have not watched all of Leo's videos. I have watched some of them, and generally rewatch them instead of watching a new one.

I tried taking notes when and after watching, but I seem retain the advice better if my intuition feels like the subject matter is important to me. I tend to not retain his videos if it just "logically" sounds interesting. I only contemplate the videos that are important for me in the moment.

I have not. I am not sure, but does not his life purpose have recommended books that are also in the booklist?

4. Do you consider yourself serious in self actualisation work?

I used to be both serious and self-amused about the work, but I was wrong. I would like to apologize to all those disparaged by my previous "comments(definitely not jokes, especially edgy jokes)." I am now just serious in doing my self -actualisation work. There is no tolerance for low consciousness humor. I am going to take my self-actualisation work very logically and to not include authentic fun in it; similar to Germans, Politicians, and College Students.

The interesting thing about Leo's work is his authentic charm and relateable communication. The most useful thing about Leo's work was that it helped me open my mind and helped me experience the true nature of reality.

I have taken the life purpose course and I am working towards it. I have repeated the course twice, and sometimes rewatch or redo the content, to squeeze more juice out of his work that I did not get the first time (when I say "juice," I did not mean to disparage the fruit community, but rather am just using it as metaphor).

7. What subjects does Leo talk about that you are struggling with right now?

I can not disclose the specific subjects, as it might be offensive to living creatures. What I can say is I am having trouble contemplating where some of his "profound answers" are coming from. It takes a lot of time, work, and frustration trying to question the source of the answers he gives the audience.

In closing, I again want to acknowledge that I am on the traditional territory of the Tsimshian aboriginals. The Canadian government has been working with the Tsimshian aboriginals eversince the creation of Treaty 8. We will always remember and not forget.

I would also like to apologize to all of entities that I have disparaged with my comments from the past. I would also like to remind everyone that I would no longer make attempts in humor, as they are disparaging to the subject of said joke.

I corporate now. No more jokes or I report, yes?

Yes to all. My notes are somewhat sparse.

5. Leo's no-nonsense, straight-forward delivery and blunt style resonates and makes the content more understandable than anyone else. My hard head needed a hammer to crack it and he cuts through all the bullshit

7. I struggle with letting go of Leo's hand and doing it for myself haha

1.I have watched all of not most of all Leo’s videos

2. I haven’t taken written notes but contemplate and apply a lot of what has been said. For example, building a common place books, asking powerful questions, and I’ve completed all the life purpose course work. I think I can improve on this and I know I can do better doing the exercises Leo has provided. That being said, I know listening to and contemplating the videos how I have has had a deep impact in my maturity and approach to life.

3. I have started the books list and am working through it. It’s a great list of books that dovetail nicely with Leo’s videos and has helped me deepen and mature my understanding of a lot of the videos. Not even just the books themselves but the types of books, and other books by the authors on the booklist.

4. I do consider myself serious about self actualization. I am actively pursuing my life purpose and having an impact on the world. I am building a strong and holistic life infrastructure. I know there is much growth to be had. That being said I have grown and matured immensely over the years. The roots of the bamboo are taking hold.

5. For me what draws me to Leo’s work is life purpose, mastering my psychology and habits and building a powerful life. I like that Leo shares traps, and tips on how to build a profound and deep life. I am drawn to depth and breadth. I am drawn toward understanding truth to its own sake and developing a powerful, spiritual and rich life.

6. I have taken the life purpose course. Plan to review the self assessments soon.

7. I am struggling with the Politics aspect of his teachings lately. It’s a lot to handle and sometimes brings a sense of doom and gloom and helplessness. I have to remind myself to let go and focus on my sphere of influence. Really, I’d like to think less about politics and big picture for the next year or two while I build my business.
