The idea or ideal of a chosen people gave moral cover to European settlers in the new Americas and set the tone for justifying their “manifest density” - that they are divinely ordained to expand and claim land. This is where Israel and America are similar, except that America has fulfilled its manifestation (domestically) and Israel hasn’t - though this same attitude still causes America to seek and maintain global hegemony which is why critics claim America or ‘the West’ hasn’t evolved from its colonial days. Or if it has, it has only evolved along the horizontal plane of the material world and not the moral plane of the vertical. Its lopsided development, that they flaunt as progress and superiority. America started with genocide, and its chapter as a global hegemon ends with being complicit in a plausible genocide.

I'm an American who moved to Italy, home of my ancestors, so I'm safe on this one.

I know on a debate he had with Cenk Ugyur, Cenk said Destiny s arguments had  implied racist attitudes towards Palestinians.

I don't think so.

I think he's over-compensating against the annoying Greens who parrot a lot of mindless genocide talking points.

Greens tend to have very unrealistic ideas about how war and power works and they keep crying genocide in an over-the-top way as if Israel are actual Nazis. The situation is much more nuanced. It's not an outright genocide, it's a much more subtle ethnic cleansing project. This nuance is lost on Greens, which makes them look irrational and foolish. Destiny is reacting against that.

We have the war in Ukraine being fought at the same time and we did not see the horrible images that came from Gaza.

A war much more condemned.

That is what triggered greens so much.

I know you have said the conflicts are different but when you have 2 wars and in 1 you just see destroyed buildings and in the other you see thousands of dead kids, it is hard not to label it as anything that a war against childreen.

Greens want the war in Gaza to have the same low children and civilian death toll in proportion to soldiers that the war in Ukraine has. Nothing more.

They think Russia (which Green already demonizes) cares more about civilians than Israel. Which leads to them calling it as a genocide.

Israelis may not be as brutal as the Nazis but there is a lot of similarities in the way they think and view stuff. Especially with hardcores like Ben Gvir. Nobody sane would call Herzog a nazi for example.

And about Destiny reacting against Green going too far (I do not think they are going too far), he doubles down on the Green views that gender is fluid and stuff like this. I have not seen him react against the excesses of Green when it comes to sexuality. He only does it here.
