@The Crocodile Why? How would you know what’s better for someone?

Well, he was saying he was having trouble with linear thinking?

Don't you think it would be better for him to do what he's naturally better at?

@Leo Gura Do you ever have long periods of time where you're sick and tired of thinking?

After 10 years of making videos I did get sick of it. Which is why I took a lot of time off lately.

It's important to take breaks and vacations from it. Heavy thinking needs to be balanced out with non-thinking activity likes games or travel or listening to music or mindless socializing.

So you put it off. In the same way a person can put off studying?

I do procrastinate on contemplation for certain videos because it's heavy exhausting work. I have to be in the mood for it.

But as far as general contemplation goes, not for videos, I do that nonstop through the day.

These days when you tell us to contemplate, I'm like 'naurrrrr, I don't want tooo, it's too hardddddddddd'. I don't feel like my thoughts are quality. I'm always doubtful about everything. So I can never arrive at anything. I don't like my output, I feel like it's just mediocre. And this further extends the not-wanting-to-think-about-things-phase. I feel like, me having poor memory, and hence, poor word retrieval and a constantly degrading vocabulary, coupled with weak verbal intelligence and articulation, creates a barrier to effective thinking. And then, I don't even do any serious reading on stuff, nor do I revisit the things I learned, so I neither acquire or retain anything. So I'm just this mess. Do you relate to any of this?

It sounds like maybe you have some brain-fog or maybe just a baseline weak mind. I don't know. Or you're just being too hard on yourself or you need more training and practice.

I've been through periods where my brain wasn't functioning well for health reasons. So I can relate to that. But otherwise I get juicy insights all the time and I don't have a problem articulating things.

We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Try to play into your strengths.

@gambler Try eating brain food and maybe a supplement. Taking breaks, proper sleep, and regular exercise can make a huge impact.

@Leo Gura it would be helpful if there's a search bar in your blog so that I can find the related topic info from your blog.

A google powered search bar can always be found in the first pinned topic of the "Personal Development -- [Main]" forum.

Interesting share. You’re spot on. I do have a weak baseline mind. Ever since I was a kid I’ve had brain fog, and my parents were always alarmed at how bad my memory is. This could be because I have Klinefelter syndrome. My poor articulation is most likely a symptom from it.

But yea I could never take you for someone who relates to struggling with articulation. Your verbal intelligence is strong. I’ll just have to make do with what I got. Wishing you continued health.

I work overnights so my sleep is in the mud sadly. But I do miss having a proper sleep schedule. There would be some improvement if I had better sleep for sure. And at this point, if I could, i would happily take any increment of improvement. Regardless, even with my current work schedule, I can improve on the sleep. This is something that I’m working on. But all these are things I got to stop neglecting.

Heavy metal detox helped me recover lost brain function. So that might be of interest to you. But we all have different mental capacities.

Would you ever admit it was just your belief that made it work

It is hard for me to definitively attribute my improvement to heavy metal detox because lots of other factors were at play. But I think it played some important role. I did many urine tests and my heavy metal values did objectively decrease.

My improvements were definitely more than placebo, I just can't be sure that it was due to the detox or other factors in my life.

When it comes to stuff like supplements, diets, and detox protocols, you're never going to know 100%. You're eye-balling things, looking for any improvement that may come your way.

Would you ever admit it was a hidden prayer to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that made it work?

@gambler

You shouldn't force the brain for an output, when there's not enough input.

Me personally do not think about contemplating things at all, just let it happen when needed. Nor do I try to memorize anything. That's the wrong way to learn stuff. Default state should be that of "not knowing" , it's like a receptive womb. What does a stupid care about getting things wrong? (get the irony here?)

My suggestion is to learn various systems, and how they work. Let's take spiral dynamics, learn the same thing from different sources, watch the videos twice or thrice. Increase your energy and attention when learning. You get the picture, leverage every resource to it's max.

Output is a natural consequence. Goal is to uncover the truth in layers; everytime you improve your perception and your skill to break down complex non linear systems, you unlock a deeper layer of truth and understanding.
