@Leo Gura Love the slideshow, also because I'm interested in making long-form videos as well. I'd love to know your process behind videos (mainly researching & scripting, talking & recording), I'm sure many other people would be interested too, a blog post would be super cool!

Dearest @Leo Gura,

The 250 Traps Of Life video is not available on the iTunes Apple Podcasts app.

Please correct this so that I may listen to that episode on my morning walks.

Sincerely,

Hussein

I would love if we'd get a slide show for every important video you posted in the last 6 years and from now on. Id like to get a slide show for the 250 traps video especially!

Thanks for sharing the list of points you made in the recent video. I actually was going to ask for this list.

Thanks a lot for sharing your slideshow!

That gives us a glimpse of the work you are going through to make a video. This is very interesting (and I've always loved behind-the-scenes).

Maybe you could ask us once to try making the list before you make the video. That way, our motivation to sit, brainstorm, and write down our ideas would be stronger. We could also read others' answers and see if we can get somewhere.

Making those videos must be an important factor for you to stay focused and diligent to do this type of work so exhaustively. Would you still do it if you didn't have an audience, were not making videos, or were not writing a book—so if you had no one to share any of your work with?

Maybe you would, but for me, it is hard—I have an undefined cloud of answers inside of me which I can't articulate when you announce a new topic, but I also struggle to try harder to articulate it, especially when all the answers are just one click away.

I am two hours into the video. Once again, it is great work. Even as I read through the slideshow, I can’t believe there are so many points that could be articulated.

The same applies for bullying .

If you're the smart kid in school and you don't hide it, less smart people will activelly try to put you down to rationalize (to themselves and others) the idea that being "smart" is actually stupid, so that they can feel good about themselves without having to change.

There is so much more to this mechanic right here. Contemplate what are the survival benefits of bullying. It's so twisted but only makes sense.

@Leo Gura I have a question about the notes you've attached for your latest video. Is this how you usually take notes, with just short bullet points vs lengthy paragraphs?

I have trouble finding a note taking system that works for me so I am curious.

Also, are you still using one note as a commonplace book for everything?

Those aren't notes, that is an outline for a talk.

I rarely make notes at all these days. I only write down my own insights. And those look similar to what I post in black on the blog.

I have it but I rarely use it anymore because I just work intuitively in my mind most of the time, unless it's some special situation like making a course or writing a book.

My whole approach becomes more and more intuitive and loose rather than formal and technical.

Hey @Leo Gura, you mentioned Plotinus putting western philosophers to shame excluding Hegel and Wilber.

What are your thoughts on Lacan?

Love how honest Daniel is recognising his own privilege here.

Corruption and wealth inequality seems to scale exponentially with population growth. The more people there are, the more people one can exploit.

We are stuck with political and social systems designed for thousands, not billions of people.

Like my Civilisation 6 games - the people are culturally retarded and technologically brilliant. Like having giant death robots in the mediaeval age.

We have serious cultural and epistemological work to do. Put your computers down, nerds.
