Imo, insight/ vipassana type practices are going to be more helpful than concentration type practices.

I'd recommend looking into the work of the following teachers:

Shinzen Young, Kenneth Folk, Mahasi Sayadaw (Google 'Practical insight meditation' PDF).

@Ulax thank you

From beasts we scorn as soulless, in forest, field, and den,
the cry goes up to witness the soullessness of men.

You ultimately want to learn how to meditate and contemplate without any external source. You want to learn how to just be awed and satisfied with just existence itself. The simplest method is just to walk through a forest and look at the trees as if seeing them for the first time. Hold a leaf, marvel at the beauty, and contemplate it.

Oh yes, forest bathing, or just walking through the woods is one of my favorite things to do. I had a really cool experience where I was touching a tree imagining i was the tree and I could begin to feel my roots below the ground and started to feel really tall. It was cool. You do this too?

Vipassana meditation has been life changing for me.

I recommended watching this series of videos which is actually shown during a 10 day Vipassana meditation course.

as @Ulax said, look into noting type of meditation specifically, fast paced noting.

I believe in the religion of Love
Whatever direction its caravans may take,
For love is my religion and my faith.
