Maybe worse because he’s allegedly more conscious and keeps allegedly suffering seeking people deliberately unconscious to sell more programs and books. (That’s what i got from you)

But there probably isn’t really free will anyway so it doesn’t really matter.

Yes he's worse than Putin, worse than Hitler, worse than even the Donald!!!!

 Sadhguru = Sad guru.
He strived and received a lot of power and now it corrupted him. Not judging but it seems to be the case.

Governments hate cults sadhguru is starting a cult. Not nessasrily negative but cults are enemies to government. They have slandered every cult in existence.

You shouldn't change your guru so quickly. Does this mean that you won't be making posts on Sadhguru anymore? I used to appreciate those posts. What happened?

@Buck Edwards I agree if you drop him for this what was your guru?

From what I gather all that happened was a doctor claimed that people were being brainwashed? It means nothing.

Sadhguru's minions are def brainwashed, but that's what they signed up for and that's par for the course in India. The whole of India is brainwashed with Hindu spiritual dogma.

Becoming a monk is an intense life choice. Obviously not right for most people.

@Leo Gura Monk lifestyle will not work on anyone who is hyper-ambitious and driven.

I tried the monk lifestyle for half a year, but the internal frustration was growing too strong.

For me, being a Tier 2 stage thinker/ scientist at the helm of a transformative tech company (both structurally and technologically) is far more fulfilling due to the direct impact I can have and the actualisation of my gifts - I receive what I can only call spiritual insight into the nature of mathematics and physical systems.

I would say this is even more intense, since for the last month I have averaged 11h of deeply technical work per day. Fulfilling in every way possible tho.

I definitely agree, Hindu dogma and tradition creates a hierarchy that can easily create these social situations where abuse/exploitation can occur. Do I think this is some bomb shell? No. Is it possible Someone in Isha could step on the wrong toes of powerful people that causes this? Sure. It could be any number of things. I'm not holding my breathe for controversy but I'm not surprised. Just because you are being honest and running an charity organization built on honesty doesn't mean there may be one or two employees who are dishonest and bring about some issue like this. You see corporations get raided and subpoenaed all the time. It's time we recognize that large organizations based on spirituality that deal with money and memberships will face the same issues sometimes due to any number of miscommunications or even corruptions. We have ridiculous purity tests for these gurus and organizations. Sahdguru is not above you or anyone, stop this "he's more conscious" bullshit.

He's def more conscious. But that has little to do with how a large organization of people operates. Sadhguru could be the most conscious dude on the planet and his followers could still be raping kids behind closed doors.

It's neither here nor there for me. I try not to draw these comparisons about people when it comes to spirituality. If he says some things that help your journey or seeking, more power to you. I like some of his YouTube videos but I definitely would not create a hierarchy of this facet, guru culture is based around it and from my point of view it leads to power imbalances and brainwashing like you said.

Lol. Isha Foundation - Ishanga. Coincidence? Even the name is similar.

Haha, not a coincidence
Anga means limb in sanskrit. Ishanga means you're a limb of Isha, a term Sadhgurus disciples often use

Indian parents are one of the selfish group of people out there. They are in constant fear of who will look after them when they are old . They will choose career for kids, house for kids and even wife for kids.

I've taken most of the advanced programs Isha offered to householders. Not all of them, but all of the main ones I have done. Here's my take:

Isha practices are the real deal - everything else *can be a distraction

If not for Sadhguru, I would not be empowered with the tools capable of transforming my experience of life in incredibly profound ways I'm still continuing to discover. Hence, I am ever grateful to him, and have a huge respect for what he's managed to offer to so many people, but the person that he is ultimately does not matter. This work is not about him, it's about my/your own growth. Both groups often forget this, the evangelists and the haters.

As a nuance, devotion to a guru can be very useful to ones growth, check out Ram Dass's (Richard Alperts) talks on youtube. But as mentioned before, this can come with all sorts of issues like groupthink, exploitation, etc.
Either way, it's genuinely not necessary. Sadhguru has even said it himself:
"Kriya Yoga requires nothing but dedication towards the practice. As you refine your energies, there is no way you can remain untransformed."
I would be very sad if it turns out Sadhguru is some fiend lol, but it wont change a f*ckin thing in regards to how I view the practices they teach.

Unfortunately, I cannot use psychedelics because they cause Insomnia for me. If this doesn't sound like a big deal to you, try sleeping once every 2/3 days and see how your life falls apart in less than a week. So, regular practices are the path I must walk if I would like to grow spiritually, and Ishas practices is what my instincts have told me to stay with (so far).

I practiced Samatha + Vipassana (Goenka style) for 3/4 years. The practices at Isha are far, far more potent and sophisticated. (I don't mean to upset any Vipassana practitioners, I am simply sharing my experience of these practices).
I may leave Isha practices someday, I can't say for sure, but I know that you'd be a fool to dismiss the baby with the bathwater. They're amazing.

Trust your instincts, commit to whatever grows you, and forget the distractions is how I see things.
