Is life coaching good way for young man?

11 posts in this topic

Hi guys. I have two questions.

First of all, I interest if now worth to become life coach? because now it's very trendy and everyone wants to become coach.

Secondly, I interest if it's okay for 21years old man? Because I look little bit childish and people don't look at me seriously in this field I think.

Thanks a lot!

I always liked the advice that you only need to be 2 or 3 steps ahead of the average person to be able to offer them value. Also, coaching is based on empathy and relatability so you could be a better coach than a billionaire if you're better able to empathize with people's problems and guide them through them.

Also, AI will give you a lot of the answers so implementation will be a bigger piece of the puzzle than before.

It really depends on if you're good at active listening, asking questions, and holding space for people's answers... and reflecting their answers back to them in your own words.

The better questions you can ask, the better coach you will be.

And the more you're aware of yourself, the more you'll be able to pick the best questions to ask.

Coaching as a profession is a lot harder than one might think. The market is saturated and because of the ridiculously low level of entry there are many trash coaches out there you will have to compete against (most of them don't even know what coaching is but call themselves coaches anyways). Also, you have to love marketing. 50% of your business will be about that - working on your marketing. If you don't, you simply won't have clients. My rose-colored glasses about this profession has fallen of completely. I realized that the marketing part and the low overall morale of the industry were the deal breakers for me to pursue coaching professionally. It's not to say that my coaching diploma was a waste of time because I'm applying these skills at a different context. Just a word of warning - it might not go as expected if you don't have a strong strategy and the willingness and ability to bite the bullet.
