another time it's because i speak curtly to someone to help them and it doesn't please babies who think that helping someone is doing people pleasing, etcetc.

I can understand the benefits of the 'cut through the bullshit'/ 'no nonsense' advice. However, I often doubt how much of it is actually  coming from a place of wanting to help, and not just wanting to feel superior.

With a lot of Leo's straight talking advice i can pick up on that wanting to help, though sometimes it has strayed into just ego boosting imo. But with some others who regularly speak in this 'cut through the bs' fashion it often just seems more about ego boosting and feeling superior. And sometimes obviously so.

Yes this is a valid point. Also if it's not helpful, why question to such posters why bother to continue to hammer it?

FYI, if you cannot properly capitalize a thread title, don't expect any quality employer to hire you.

Small details like that matter to serious people because professionalism and quality matters in all lines of business. Sloppiness and laziness screams low quality, low standards, low self-respect.

So for the sake of your careers I hope you don't type to your employers and clients like you do on this forum.

I can understand and appreciate this approach. I work for a leading global organisation and it is scary how many managers have dire spelling and grammar.

In fact, it’s extremely embarrassing to see grown adults in positions of significant responsibility to be unable to communicate simple ideas and instructions through basic English.

If you are serious about a career in a large organisation then I would advise you to take the English language seriously. I wouldn’t hire anyone who couldn’t clearly articulate themselves in written English.

You experience live through an energetic structure, from there everything you observe is you or, to take a more easily handy dual pov a mirror of yourself.

So indeed when you try to help someone, the tacit goal is always to gain perspective on a part of yourself that you don't accept because it prevents progression towards a new version of you.

The reason you develop anger at someone and claim that they are "trying to feel superior" is because they threaten your ego to a degree that you are not willing to accept.I am someone with a lot of "height" overall because I have repeatedly exposed myself to problems that amount to physical torture; That's why I have almost never attacked, developed, hate or blocked anyone here, i just don't care.

I was talking about "baby" what happens in principle is that I take my time to interact with people here and there who talk about trauma on all lines, to ultimately be the target of their paranoia, their hatred and their hysterical and bad bitch tendencies in general because they can't stand to see their ego shaken, and therefore my direct and virile way of speaking.

So you are arguing that the only possible conclusion is the following. That every time I think someone else is commenting out of a desire to feel superior, then I am simply deceiving myself. According to this, even if someone were to say "I am writing this piece of advice merely as a way to feel superior to the other person", then i would be wrong to conclude that they were trying to feel superior. Need I say more lol.

You just attacked people by calling them babies in a recent comment. Though I understand if you meant direct attacks, i.e. on specific users.

And, here you are seemingly arguing that there is only one reason that people react negatively to your advice. That reason being that they can't stand to see their ego shaken. And never because they are in some sense justified in their negative reaction towards what you say, i.e. sensing an arrogant attitude. So, it would follow you are arguing that in 100% of these situations you are in the right and they are in the wrong. This doesn't sound very likely to me.

Again, I'll reiterate that I doubt the good intentions of many of these 'cut through the bullshit' type posts/ comments.

No, you're not.

Wanting helping someone include wanting feeling "superior" and vice versa.

It's an exception.

To be more precise i can be punctually brutal yes, but it doesn't go further.

My software is not twisted on this.

The reason you react emotionally to someone is because you deep down believe he is somehow right.

It's not about who is objectively right or wrong.

Every action has intentions that could be described as good and bad.
When someone excessively pities (from my point of view) a person who makes a topic about a personal problem, I could say that it is also a way of projecting one's inability to be shaken up, even if it ultimately pushes OP into immobility.

It's all relative.

I just like to use dash instead of comma.  Not laziness..just creating a style or a footprint out of my posts. I hope I don't get warning for that .I've been doing it for 4+ years now so I don't think Leo would mind it more 😂.

@Someone here Dashes are great syntacto-linguistic tools for separating qualitatively groups of words in sentences.

  • "After a split second of hesitation, the second baseman leaped for the ball—or, rather, limped for it."
  • The rain in the forecast—because it came after a long, unbroken stretch of sunny days, at a time of year that is usually quite wet—made the gardeners happy even though they had to reschedule the event.

I don't actually recall seeing dashes in your replies though.

Heh, thanks. Sure got off the wrong foot in that thread, I heard "explain the basics of tech".
So I thought, "Okay, let's go the cavemen roleplay of inventing the first tools"
But it went past my head that the context went past your head
So then we started arguing & I started flexing, 'till we went bananas xD

I turned 24 recently btw, so now I have to keep up with the growing expectations!
I sure miss tripping, where I could just get a quick & free upgrade to my intelligence, that was fun 😁

I think some leniency is due on punctuation. I rarely include commas unless it’s absolutely needed in the sentence. Mostly full stops as I have done here

Proper grammar is a keystone of civilized communication. How could we expect anything less? In fact, it should be at the top of the priority list! Content, quality, maybe even God? No! Grammar, syntax, and linguistically standardized symbolic exchange must be a thoroughly filtered process. It should occupy at least 98% of your waking consciousness. Truly, if you cannot even hold yourself to this level of discipline, that Leo so solemnly outlines, then there is no place for you on this forum. Not only that! There is no place for you in any decent business, or society for that matter! Not only that! There is no place for you on this planet! Now swallow your pride and go back to school, you illiterate, grammarless plebeians!

Posted (edited)

Guys, I am seeing way too many threads with spelling errors and improper capitalization.

(admittedly I have lots of errors in my posts) but we can do better with the titles at least.
