Should dating apps be regulated

I personally think they should be. Intimacy and connection is a deeply fundamental need for humans and rather than be of service to that, dating apps are creating a deep dissatisfaction for both men and women

They exploit people’s insecurities and drive approval seeking rather than that deep connection that we all really want. If you really reflect on it, capitalistic society is so deeply sociopathic. You have to really find and create connection and community yourself

Although consider that many working men and women in their thirties find dating apps their only way to meet new people and find stable relationships. They have many responsabilities and may not like clubbing anymore. Dating apps allow for meeting new people. I was surprised to discover such fact from close older friends.

Besides, how would you regulate sex from an institutional ground? I wouldn't want the State to enter into my sexual affairs, although it still does.

@Davino It’s not to regulate sexual relations. The regulation should be on the gamification and monetisation algorithms 

Paying for it is not the problem. If we could pay £20 per month and get a pure uncorrupted experience without any nasty monetisation algorithms the experience would be much better for people
