Peterson and Lindsay on Marxism - Wisecrack

I don't get how Lindsay can think that Marxism, which is ontologically based on materialism, has a spiritual aspect to it. Even if it had, so what, although it would be ironic.

So here's a disclaimer. I'm an absolute dunce when it comes to most history, and that includes whatever occurred during the times when communism was more rampant.

But if we're talking about mysticism, I'm at least a bit more educated, both intellectually and experientially. From what I can gather from my limited exposure to Marx's writings, it's difficult to see how they wouldn't be said to have elements of the occult. I'm not sure whether he was including that type of material in a conscious manner, or whether it was just concepts he picked up along the way, but I can see why others would make the connection.

@What Am I, they are making it seem that being inspired is an evil thing. Marx was inspired by Hegel and also other people. But Marx was a materialist.

I think we could interpret many things in many ways. But they are overly focused on their ones without understanding what Marx could have meant.

I would never rely on Christian nationalists to educate me about spirituality or any other subject.

Yeah, I recently mentioned in a different thread how it's impossible for James Lindsay to truly understand spirituality if he's only read their writings and doesn't actually believe in the possibilities contained within them, much less having experienced it for himself. He definitely wouldn't be my first choice to make the interpretations.

These people are Christian ideologues so they cannot make sense of basic history because it would contradict their ideology.

You can't make sense of reality as a dogmatic Christian.

These people think Hitler was a socialist! They couldn't pass an AP high school history exam.
