been there twice but not really for spiritual exploration

i would travel again but more for the sights, vibe and food and because it’s cheap but maybe not really for spiritual exploration

spiritual exploration is everywhere

I think if you wouldn’t travel to metropolitan cities. You will find a lot of spirituality.

I have been looking for spiritual tour groups that visit holy places but haven't found anything good yet.  I think that would be the most efficient way to use the resources and time.   If you aren't in to spirituality, than India is a waste of time.   The other thing is the brutal trip from the USA, all the flights seem to take about 30 hours to get there.

There is a channel name @dakotaofearth on youtube. You should check that out.

Yea sure

But spirituality for me now is also just staring at a tree in my home country.

I don’t feel a reason to go to india for spiritual reasons.

Although if I wanted to learn real yoga or something I’d consider it.

But, that doesn't mean there are not hidden gems of extremely spiritually advanced people over here. They are here, a fuck ton, but over years they have become even more reclusive and hidden.

In a way, it truly has to be in your destiny to find someone like that over here.

So please, be extremely witty and save your money, visit places where most don't go, and always practice a healthy level of scepticism when visiting India.

It's a beautiful place which most certainly has the potential to change one's life in a spiritual level. You just need to know what you are doing.

This is a well-written post.

Yes, there are gems of enlightened sages and Avatars in different parts of the country, but  finding them depends to a large extent on one's own spiritual merit gathered from this and past lives, as well as a receptive and dynamic mindset capable of correctly discriminating between the true and false.

Some recognize and benefit enormously from these sages, while some  are indifferent and even adversely critical of them all their lives increasing their demerit and deluded state.

As Kabir had stated, " A diamond was laying in the street covered with dirt. Many fools passed by. Someone who knew diamonds picked it up."

That’s  just a belief.

To be able to perceive well without the filters of memory and imagination clogging the vision, there should be preparatory inner work beforehand.

Otherwise one is bound to deludedly perceive the rope as a snake or a diamond as a stone. Without correct perception there is no correct action and proper results.

You don't have to go to specifically India to find true spirituality tho. Any country and culture has a unique tradition.

A trip to a radically different country with a fundamentally different culture can be spiritual by itself in its own way. And I'm not gonna lie, India does feel very unique, strange and alien. Good place to explore cultural relativism and stuff.

I spent three months in India recently and loved every day of my trip.

One of my favorite countries to travel, but it's not for those who are looking for a sanitized comfortable experience. Go there to see all sides of humanity, the dark and the light. Talk to locals and be open, it can be very mind expanding.

Many western people just like to make jokes about it and feed their prejudice to feel better about themselves, ignore them. You clearly have the curiosity and openness to be able to appreciate it. I can highly recommend it.
