Why can't we close our own threads?

Does this forum have that feature that could be enabled later?

It would be impolite to close a thread while someone is in the process of writing a reply.

The best way to close a thread is by not giving it any more attention.

Well, maybe you think your questions are answered or there's nothing to say and you don't want to ask the moderators always to close it. And maybe you want it to be available for different reasons.

I agree that they should have the control.

I meant that I could have more control over my thread, not others', even though the mods will always have the final say.

But it is what it is. This is your forum. It's not that we don't have some control.

We only really lock threads that are low quality or spiral out of control.
