Trump shot at again (shocking)

The video shows Ryan Routh posted that he voted for Trump and supported Vivek Ramaswamy in the primary this year. Seems like some Republican ties.

Well at least this stereotype that all liberal men in America are soy boys who don’t know how to use a gun are starting to be shattered

I just think it's more fair to say "it's complicated". We're talking about a person who's crazy enough to grab a rifle and try to shoot an ex-president, so it's already an individual whose state of mind will be difficult for any of us to really grasp. Their party affiliation is probably a tenuous thing, and can change drastically the instant they're displeased. Likely pretty impulsive.

Shooter voted for Trump in 2016. So he wasn't a far leftist, he was center-rightish/anti-mainstream.

Imagine Trump’s reaction when he finds out about that 😂 I wonder how he’d feel. That must be one heck of an emotional rollercoaster experiencing two assassination attempts.

No doubt, a successful assassination would be much more impactful, but the prerequisite for every successful assassination is an assassination attempt. For them to become normal and even joked about in the public consciousness, an actual success could just be a matter of time.

It doesn't seem like this event will be given its appropriate reverence. Even less than the previous one I'm guessing. It's not inconceivable that the next name you see on the news could have a (D) next to it instead.

I feel like these two assassination attempts are unique to Trump due to his inflammatory rhetoric. I don't see it becoming the norm across the board for politics.

His political stance can't be pinpointed based on that. But sure it could be seen as an indication. But people change their political views and beliefs radically sometimes and given he just tried to kill Trump I don't think it's a far shot that his political views are quite different from when he voted for Trump in 2016.

Obviously political instability is not wanted, but that's what we've been pushed into by competing forces around the globe, some of which are trying (buying) to change America.

I don't want political assassinations to be the norm. I don't want the Republicans echoing not just now fascist but nazi rhetoric, but they are. I worry that they will eventually turn against Europe I have made this concern known a few times. It looks like in part they already are with their support for Russia. This type of rhetoric will lead to violence, you preach hate get hate, and yes the dems are not immune. as I've said your parties are both toward the authoritarian right. It's just the Republicans are now openly fascistic, and still going right thanks to Russian and Chinese money pumped into your parties. The influence of certain groups online has contributed to sending them off the deep end.

Taking him out at the polls is the best option and should allow for continued support for NATO and thus hopefully stop a WW3, but at the same time, it's not going to change the underlying dynamic of what is going on in your country. Though I see some light at the end of the tunnel finally, social media is not taken quite so literally and outlandish conspiracy is more openly mocked.

I can't speak for China of course, they still might instigate it rather than exercise patience to get Taiwan, which they will obtain eventually anyway. Once the semiconductor industry has been formally moved, there is a fair likelihood that Taiwan will one day culturally integrate with China without a shot being fired.

Maybe I am being too pessimistic, and people are finally tiring of it, I do see that as a distinct possibility.

If Trump does get killed, at least a few of his supporters won't take kindly to it. I would disagree with the notion that the killing ends there. Even if you guys see it as being due to his own rhetoric, I promise that's not how it's viewed by many millions on the other side. There may even be an effort towards revenge just for the two recent attempts.
