Two Truths

4 posts in this topic

My road lead me to recognize only two absolute truths:

The self

Reality as it is in this moment

I have been contemplating for two years since and nothing changed about it.

You can learn many relative truths through the mind.

But no matter what you will encounter it will be an experience in the moment plus

your true self.

The moment you start thinking and making theories about it it you get further away from absolute truth.

For example if you think "what is it made of" you posit something other than what you are seeing that explains it.

The absolute truth is the direct recognition of wats here with no need for it to be made of anything.

As for the self there is nothing to be said about it.

Note that the self here can be substituted for consciousness void or brahman.

Each choose what fits his realization more .

I still am in a state of duality since now there is the self and reality which are not identical in my current understanding.

What if reality is a manifestation of the Self?

Whichever way you turn, there is the face of God

Keep looking into it. I can relate.

If I'm not wrong Ruppert Spira says that it is a "stage" and eventually you recognize that experience and "experiencer" are just one.

I'm not sure what is required for that. Maybe a higher awareness.

Here is a report from an experience that I had:

I was having some unpleasant feelings of disconnection and loneliness, so I decided to sit down and become totally aware of the feelings,

allowing them to be and letting go of suppressions and aversions. The "problem" was that those feelings were not so clear and constant and

I was having a lot of random thoughts that distracted me from that original focus.

Because of that, I decided to simply be aware of whatever I was having in my experience. Whatever feelings and thoughts.

Them, gradually, I felt so grounded in my own presence, in my own awareness that everything became observed. Simply observed without the need or the "notion" of a separate observer.

From this point, I had the discernment of being experiencing myself as my own experience and my experience as myself. So simply!

In all my previous meditations doing self-inquiry, I had this idea of forcing awareness "backward" into its source. But now I had the experience of witnessing everything as awareness itself.

It was shocking at the moment but then, peacefully, I came back to my "normal" state."

@LambdaDelta  In my experience there is only the self so reality is the manifestation of it.

Yet it feels there is the self as it is before any experience comes about , and then the experience.

In this lies the duality.

@Hugo Oliveira  I agree and think that there is much more work for me to be done.

I remember Leo's video where he talked about becoming aware of the absolute first, and then merging it with the direct experience we are having as the next step.
