Cease the act of masturbation.

It's undeniably challenging to resist the urge to engage in self-pleasure🥲

Oh man, is that ever true. I think for a vital male, masturbation may be the most powerful addiction there is. It's like being a crack addict and being forced to carry around a little baggy of crack lol. I couldn't say how the urge is for females. I believe it's obviously there, but I get the sense that they could take it or leave it.

I think this kind of repression is not healthy

Yeah but the super power you talk about at the beginning is sexual energy, and to some extent it doesn't matter how you express it, if alone or somebody else. Therefore imo, to support your initial idea you should be against any sexual release.

Also, it is scientifically proven that regular sex is in fact healthy.

Emotional exhaustion can occur when engaging in sex regularly, especially if the encounters lack genuine connection or intimacy. Over time, this may lead to feelings of detachment or dissatisfaction within the relationship.

The end of separation is the end of desire. It’s life, it’s death, it’s unity; it is the absolute. In this profound realization, we find perfection eternal, a state of everlasting harmony.

I agree; well said, my friend.

Who knows, maybe you're right. If nothing else, you may be correct that it's not healthy for society in general. But if you're talking about a form of celibacy for a very dedicated spiritual practitioner, I remain convinced it's an important step to take, along with a successful spiritual practice.

Post-nut clarity might help you avoid problems down the road if you've put someone you find sexually attractive on a pedestal.

But why is it good? I haven't seen real benefits from not masturbating. In the last year I haven't really don't that cause I'm in a relationship, but in general in my life sometimes I do it, other times I don't for whole months. I am into spirituality since 4 years already (2 years ago I started more intensely), and I never really got benefits from masturbating or not.

To talk about its potential benefits for yourself, we'd have to dissect just how far you've actually gotten in spirituality. If you believe you're still relatively untransformed, and you think it's likely that your own baseline consciousness would be mostly indistinguishable from the average person's, then you're correct that celibacy probably won't be a deciding factor in making further progress.

But as you continue on your journey, it's possible that extraordinary revelations will unfold for you, and your daily experience will border on the miraculous as your hidden inner world bursts to life. It's at that time where you can significantly benefit from the extra oomph which preserved sexual energy provides.

If you're not noticing any benefits or drawbacks either way, might as well let nature take its course and do what feels natural. If a time comes where your level of consciousness feels detracted from after sexual activity, maybe give an intentional period of abstinence a try.

Thank you for the nice explanation!

In general every time I have sex with my partner I use that as a spiritual practice too. I got inspired by Osho, when he says that orgasm is also a smaller kind of death.

I think to some extent I have a higher baseline level of consciousness than the average person, especially after I read Eckhart Tolle's "power of now". I am aware that I can go deeper, but for now I'm trying to really live in the present moment, the way he teaches. Do you have more advices on how to have a higher baseline level of consciousness? Apart from meditation which I do daily regularly

Masturbation is healthy and fine though. But young people need a conscious and healthy guidance about sex which is not very common in society. And it’s too bad because sex is so intimate and a vulnerable act.

There needs to also be talks about when masturbation doesn't become healthy and fine. I was told it was healthy in my sex education. So when I noticed I was, for the longest time, doing it only once every month, and now only every 2 or 3 months, I thought something was wrong with me (there wasn't, I was in my most healthy state of mind and physically active in the gym). So I started to create the desire to do it more in order to "fix" myself and be healthy. But then it became something I did 2-3 times a day, and sometimes even more than that. It also became a way to cope with negative emotions. Eventually, realizing the loss of self-control from being addicted to masturbating gave me negative emotions, so I would then cope by masturbating and hence it became a looping cycle. But that's not even the worst part. The worst part is, your modus opernadi changes so that you're just wired for dopamine, and you don't do things that are productive with your free time like engaging in hobbies. This becomes your new default state even if you made it to where you're masturbating less. And so, not only do you get bored more easily, but your mind has been programmed to think about the opposite gender way too much because of that dopamine temptation, so that you're more likely to masturbate to relieve your boredom and the addiction still goes on. So I just wish we were told these things too--that it can be a slippery slope where things unravel in a way in which no one can tell you where it will go.

Sure, no problem. And I apologize, now that I think about it, my comment was a little dismissive.

There's a wide range of spiritual attainment between having none and having the specific type I'm referring to. And someone who takes it as seriously as yourself no doubt falls somewhere more favorably on that spectrum. In particular, the preservation of sexual energy comes more into play when kundalini is noticeably active.

Also, I don't mean to make it sound like kundalini is specifically the top end of the yardstick. There's many practitioners of high attainment who don't seem to experience kundalini, which is a bit of a mystery in itself.

Yeah, definitely sober daily meditation practice. And if you want to add some spiritual rocket-fuel, mix in periodic and increasingly strong 5-MeO-DMT trips. Since you're already reading Eckhart Tolle, you've probably come across his "inner body awareness" method. This has been an important practice in my own path.

It's exactly as he describes, where humans' awareness is completely absorbed in their mind, and by extension their physical head. By developing a fully embodied awareness of your entire being, you turn on all kinds of little energetic triggers that enhance your perception. There's a whole spiritual anatomy which usually gets ignored for a person's lifetime. Bringing continuous awareness to it has the effect of energizing and activating it. It's this type of thing, especially when paired with 5-MeO-DMT, that may lead to some serious energetic awakenings.

@manuel bon you also may find this other post of mine helpful. Someone else was asking about my experience with kundalini, and I probably took the detail too far and made an annoyingly long post.

Yeah I would love to do it, but honestly I'm a bit scared. I don't think I'm ready to feel like I'm actually about to die...I am still attached to this life. But I would love to do it soon. I think when I go back to the country where I study I will try a light dose.

Sub-breakthrough doses are extremely beneficial as well, and they're honestly far less scary than most other psychedelics. A substance like DMT opens your awareness to the infinite display of subtle phenomena, which can include strong manifestations of the incredibly beautiful as well as the unspeakably horrific. The 5-MeO-DMT experience, in low, medium, and high doses, is always aiming your consciousness squarely at a sort of fusion of those opposites. It's a revelation of the causal rather than the subtle, so you're much less likely to come face-to-face with a profoundly intimidating cosmic evil.

Just make sure whatever method you use allows for a good control of the dose, keep that dose at low or low/medium until you're comfortable increasing, and it should work out well.

Yess will do like that! Thanks!

I also think I might try 5meo with my girlfriend close to me (sober), she's never really tried psychedelics (except for truffles twice) or any drug, but I feel greatly comfortable with her.
