Those who are highly spiritually advanced and have already been through significant transformation can actually perceive the assimilation of sexual fluids into a type of fuel that powers a more sophisticated consciousness. This relates directly to kundalini and how it operates. The sexual use of this fuel has the predictable impact of temporarily lessening the potential for higher consciousness while it's restored. I'm not skilled enough to perceive this myself, but I have an enormous amount of faith that it's the case.

At least based on spiritual theory, it'd be because they're not actively transforming the excess sexual energy into higher consciousness. I totally know the type of person you're describing, and they're likely to be wallowing in mountains of egotism, without a clue as to a higher purpose in their life. With no legitimate spiritual practice, it's possible they'll just become overburdened with sexual urge, or they'll turn it into some kind of repressed desire that leaks out in other ways.
