Can people with low IQ explore truth and self-actualise?

18 posts in this topic

The question is clear: Can a person with a low IQ develop themselves, explore truth and achieve self-actualization?

Jordan Peterson suggests that individuals with lower IQs should align with mainstream conservative values, as this may help them avoid complications in life. He argues that those who are less intelligent should not think for themselves because they end up thinking badly

However, considering that thinking is essential for contemplation: is it possible for someone with a low IQ to think independently, align their life with truth, and actualise themselves?

Depends how low the IQ. At some point it gets so low that, yeah, you need to scale down your life ambitions and stick to simple things.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Based on my personal experience with my own and others cognitional prowess, I would agree that most people are better off living within the dream and passing up truth.

I guess you either have the courage to lose it all or you don’t.

@Leo Gura IQ of 95 slightly below average.

Would this person do you think be able to create a subjecting amazing life and contribute to the world if he/she implements your advice.

Do you think this person would even be able to contemplate and learn the right lessons from your videos. I mean at some level he/she has to trust themselves that they even understand your message completely.

@QVx Here's something that really bothers me: People with an IQ of 150 often think they understand a lot about the world because they’re comparing themselves to someone who knows far less. But imagine an entity with an IQ of 1000—how would they perceive our so-called geniuses with a 150 IQ? So, at what point does your IQ actually allow you to grasp the truth?

I don't know because I only know my own brain/mind.

You can pursue Awakening and life purpose without needing to be so cerebral and intellectual about it as is my style.

You gotta find a style that fits your strengths and abilities. Simple meditation or yoga can work on a guy with low IQ. Advanced philosophy probably not. Keep in mind that a lot of the advanced stuff I talk about isn't necessary. You don't need to understand quantum mechanics and Godel's Incompleteness Theorems. Just handle the basics. Focus on a few key things that you can do well.

Creating a good life doesn't require advanced sharp intellect, it requires doing basic things very consitently and well. And only sharp intellect is actually counter-productive for happiness.

Most of you wouldn't be happier with my brain. Because you would be overwhemled with intellectual problems.

Measuring consciousness through IQ is a fools errand.

If one is in the game of measuring consciousness, then one is in the game of illusion.

One need only know oneself to know one’s consciousness; everything else is not it.

As rats.

Every human is a rat relative to Alien Mind.

IQ? It does not measure the ability to follow an inner compass. I believe you can have a high IQ and devote 99% of your intelligence to the ego.

@QVx Nah bro, I was actually referring to the pursuit of truth in general—avoiding biases, understanding complex systems, and grasping epistemic truth. I think it's reasonable to assume that someone with a high IQ might be better equipped to interpret and understand the truth, like their trips and so forth.

With brain training and optimized fitness, nutrition and general health which bumps their IQ up to 110, certainly :P

IQ is a shit measure for intelligence.

You have to know that even the dumbest person has a huge level of intelligence (just compare them to animals for example or robots with AI). Every person is an intelligent work of art, so what you're talking about is relativity. What a dumb person really lacks (comparatively) is awareness and maybe a natural ability to become more aware, but it's not hopeless. It's like a fire, once started awareness breeds more awareness.

Not a very future-proof example

I feel that you had to be dull-minded while surviving and being responsible for your loved ones. Imagine working in a line where you do simple monotone activity all day. After finishing your mind numbing work you’d have no desire to contemplate the existence of the universe. But, if you’re part a of community that encourages this, you’d have a ready made scaffolding structure to get started and stay on track.

That's a supremely intelligent insight.

I would agree that a higher IQ would be a reasonable metric to gauge one’s development opportunity.

I think the problem with the metric comes when one moves beyond thought being their primary way of meaning making.

Its easy to measure one’s capacity for thought in the realm of thinking as they co-exist.

When one begins, and eventually transcends thought, as their primary way of meaning making then the measure of IQ becomes irrelevant as a total means of measurement; including a gauge.
