Sweet, they’re opening up a new location where I can pick up my medical cannabis. It’ll be much closer to me. Instead of having to drive 40 minutes to the dispensary, this new location is only a 15 minute drive! 

Beans is also planning on being part of the medical cannabis program here in Texas. They’ll need to have an autism diagnosis to be approved, so they plan on getting evaluated soon. We have a good feeling that they have it. Having a diagnosis will help get them the proper support and resources that they need.

I got to put makeup on joy for the very first time. They are very excited about it. Feels very strange to them, but they’re embracing it. We even took a photo and sent it to their family. They haven’t noticed yet ! Hehe

My dad keeps calling me Yimpa now and it caught me by surprise. A lovely surprise. It’s surreal to be called by a different name than what I’ve been called for 28 years.

Yet, I’m also feeling a strong backlash, as my old self is still wanting to take over and sabotage all the progress that’s been made. I need to remind myself that it’ll take time to get used to these changes. Patience, patience, patience!

you will always be beautiful to me, with or without makeup. It fills my heart to see you look so relaxed and relieved. My prayer is you find more of those loving feelings.

I just recently learned that yimpa in Kituba means novelty. I never even knew that when I originally discovered/created the name Yimpa a few years ago! Now this name hits even closer to home now. And I am no longer claiming it as my own. I'm so proud of sharing this name with my partner!

A new life and opportunity to carve a path that feels authentic to us. Burning down our past to be lifted up anew.

Yes, that was us at the Japanese Tea Garden in San Antonio, TX yesterday. It was my second time there. Beans, however, had no idea what to expect when I took them there, which made it an even better experience!

I love you more than words can express. I’ve lived my entire life feeling like a bird in a caged trapped. And finding another bird who’s felt the same way. The way we stretch our wings and dare to feel the wind beneath them. 
it’s an honor and privilege. I’m grateful to go through this crazy life with you. No matter what happens in this big crazy and chaotic world. 
I don’t feel afraid. 
I’m excited to see our futures. Especially as we free ourselves from what held us back.
