About to see my dad for the first time in-person in over a year. I have not seen him since his major accident which left him disabled.

I am nervous and excited. Beans is too. This will be their first time meeting him irl.

beans is feeling disengaged

no joy •^•

hi joy

Joy is all around

:3 I felt disengaged when my original idea for my comment was being thrown off
I just felt like I couldn’t focus on what I wanted to say, but instead all I could focus was on what joy was saying. I felt a bit frustrated, but I didn’t feel comfortable with getting angry with joy. Filipino and Mexican “nice mix” Joy talking to the water mechanic man :)) hehehehhehee joys Filipino and I’m Mexican mwhahahahahhahahaha :))
I was reluctant to tell joy I didn’t wanna write that and was worried they’d be mad with me

:DD bye chat

It’s been almost 2 weeks without lifesaving medication that my doctor prescribed. My recovery has been more difficult than it needs to be. I empathize with millions of people who are in my shoes.

I refuse to allow the insurance company and their corrupt doctors to dictate which medication I can and cannot use.  They put money over people’s lives. My healthcare team and I will resist these spineless dictators.

I bet that even if I showed them all the scars over my body, they wouldn’t have the guts to approve the medication. They’d still justify why I don’t deserve proper treatment.

I’d literally have to be one step away from death’s door before they finally did the right thing.

Shameless.

TodayI used the woman’s bathroom in public for the first time ever. What a courageous and joyous experience!

I just got approved for my eczema medication DUPIXENT!

Lesson learned: you need to bend some rules to get what you need in this life. Tragic, but true ;)

You used to be so insecure about that.

I’m grateful that I was able to shift your perspective with just a simple bite :P

Shoutout to my mother for fighting hard to keep me alive throughout my youth. I could not have done it without you. And I’m sorry for all the times I’ve hurt you out of ignorance. We no longer need to live like that anymore.

A great ELI5 from Claude about how Dupixent works to heal the skin of people living with eczema:

Quote

Imagine your skin is like a broken brick wall, and your immune system is like a group of construction workers. In people with eczema, these “construction workers” (immune cells) are actually making things worse - they’re sending those messenger birds (IL-4 and IL-13) that cause inflammation, itching, and damage instead of fixing the wall.

When Dupixent blocks these messenger birds:

    1.    The construction workers stop getting the wrong messages to cause inflammation

    2.    Your skin can finally start its natural healing process without interference

    3.    The itching reduces, so you’re less likely to scratch and create new wounds

    4.    Your skin barrier (the “brick wall”) can repair itself properly

It seems like magic because once you remove the signals that were causing the problem, your body’s natural healing abilities can finally work properly. It’s like finally telling those confused construction workers to stop throwing bricks, so the actual repair team can get to work!

This is also why many people report their skin healing within weeks of starting Dupixent - they’re not just getting symptomatic relief [prescription ointments applied to skin], their skin is actually getting a chance to repair itself without constant immune system interference.
