Now i guess to each his own. Everyone has their own definition of enlightenment these days.

I think of enlightenment as an AWARENESS that is neither attached to nor detached from anything. It is the freedom of mind to engage and experience CONSCIOUS REALITY every day and every moment without delusions or distractions, without unnecessary worries or irrational fears. However, enlightenment is not something that can be obtained, contained, or held on to  it must keep flowing, ... like a river to the sea. As with consciousness, enlightenment only exists in the present moment. It does not exist in the past or the future.

Agree with that definition, the problem is that the mind is full of fear, rejection and hindrance in very deep level, then there is always barriers in some extent. Enlightenment is the absence of barriers.

His definition is not far off though. Enlightenment does feel like knowing what you're. A form of awareness. Not exactly self awareness. But extending yourself beyond your own boundaries.

yeap... But lots of people say they are enlightened but Karmic prison is still there. They think enlighment is like an achievement or gold medal. No, it completely demolishes the structure, thats why almost nobody is there, we all are carrying a certain structure and most of as are in an active process of dissolving it, it takes time because life has become the structure itself. So the process of dissolving the structure is also the process of dissolving reality itself, both are intertwined with one another.
