I don't have experience with India so I don't know why rape is so common there.

It has a lot to do with India's large population , largest in the world at present, and twice that of the european union. Since it is a single country, things are not often seen with the proper perspective and proportion.

Yes my point exactly. It's a correlation.

People who abuse women also tend to abuse porn, because they are abusers in general. They will abuse whatever that comes their way.

If you take away porn, then will find something else to abuse.

That's why having porn is better off since it's provides them with some outlet for their sociopathic tendencies without engaging in actual harm to society. Banning stuff is not the solution. Those who want it will resort to illegal ways to access it.

But I have shown research articles that shows that access to porn can potentially inflame the situation.

Rape and crime are still major issues in western society too inspite of them having a healthy police to population ratio. We are fortunate that we do not have the likes of Jack the Ripper, Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy in our midst but the way things are going I am not sure of the future.

Since India does not have the requisite police to population ratio at present, on account of its weak economy, it would be better to place bans on all such potential inflamers like alcohol and pornography, so as to ensure socio-economic stability and social progress .

Now you tell me what's the next logical step.

Do you need the court to call Modi on phone to take action?

This is just hyperbole and one-off sensational statement and does not warrant presidents rule.

You will never truly know the motivations of a rapist.

Generally is safe to assume that they do it because they don't fear the law and they get high on power from it.

These are the certainties.

Note that with a huge population the number of people with sociopathic tendencies increase and the harder it becomes to govern the populace. Add to the mix the gangs and the goons backed by that state parties themselves who are often well connected. These are the criminals.

If some dude kidnaps women and runs into the forest to rape her, that's probably due to sexual frustrations. But there is a lot more to it. Any dude doing it will have to face consequences and cops would be the last thing he fears.

Great point. Sexual frustration is just that. Rape takes a different mindset. That's like undermining the violation of the act. Oh well, they were just sexually frustrated. No, something else is going on there. Most times rape isn't about sex, but about power. Plenty of people getting plenty of sex still rape.

Rape is a heinous crime driven by power and control, not sexual desire. While it's crucial to understand the factors contributing to such acts, it's essential to remember that no excuse justifies rape, ever.Individuals with certain personality disorders, such as antisocial personality disorder or narcissistic personality disorder, may be at a higher risk of perpetrating sexual violence. Experiencing abuse or neglect as a child can contribute to developing distorted views of sexuality and relationships. Alcohol and drug use can impair judgment and increase the likelihood of impulsive and aggressive behavior.Societal attitudes and norms that normalize or excuse sexual violence can create an environment where perpetrators feel emboldened. For example a rape culture. Unequal power dynamics between genders can contribute to a sense of entitlement and objectification of women. That's often seen in eastern countries. Along with victim blaming. Societal attitudes that blame victims for sexual assault can discourage reporting and perpetuate a culture of silence.

I would guess the problem is related to the culture's lack of acceptance for casual sex. From what I understand sex in India mostly requires getting married, which leaves many people sexually frustrated.

I thought the same at first, but then you see many very religious Muslim countries that do not have many rapes going on there.

Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Iran even Pakistan.

Ironically Pakistanis do way more rapes when they are outside Pakistan in more liberal countries where they do not need to marry to have sex since there are a lot of liberal people there.

So, it feels like either Islam tends to prevent rape between fellow Muslims.

@Bobby_2021 There are no "abusers". Everyone is an abuser. It's just a question of degree and how one acts upon it.

By removing yourself so far from them you're denying your own abusive tendencies.

So the many people that are frustrated doesn't include women, I guess. Because if both are sexually frustrated, then they'd find a way to satisfy their frustration without raping. Believe it or not, sexual frustration doesn't lead to rape. One might think about it but will never commit the act, if the underlying reason for the rape wasn't there to begin with, which could be a few things like hatred for women or a feeling of lack of power or whatever else goes through the mind of an actual rapist. Saying people rape due to sexual frustration undermines the severity of the act and to me is saying that sexual frustration can lead one to commit a crime of rape based solely on the fact that they were sexually frustrated. Totally undermines the crime by putting it in that category.

I dont think no human thinks like "Damn, I have no choice today but to rape a little you know, because my dick is really horny and I my usual scort is out of town today, so... I gotta do it you know? just can't handle the frustration" lmao

The reason men rape is because they crave sex.

Yeah, you're right. It's important to note also that in the mind of a rapists, seeing prostitutes is the last thing on their mind because they don't really get that same satisfaction. It's about power and with a pro, there's no power there, in fact she's the one with the power in that instant. So a real rapist isn't interested in prostitutes, that's usually where the serial killers come in. There are different categories to this shit. It's amazing how it works. That's why they have people that study these minds. It rings deeper than some mere sexual frustration. My cat gets sexually frustrated.

But some cultures manage to put them in check and while others do not.

That is what we are discussing with this thread.

I gave examples of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, UAE (muslim states) where men should be equally craving sex but do not rape as much.

If one doesn't already have a rapist mentality no amount of sexual frustration or craving sex will lead one to actually go out and commit rape.
