nothing external excites me to be honest. I just want to return to a somewhat normal internal state, that is what excites me

Where I feel connected to myself and my thought processes . Where I can feel joy in interactions with others and in other situations which are positive instead of being apathetic toward everything . Something like that

This statement "nothing external excites me to be honest. I just want to return to a somewhat normal internal state, that is what excites me" points to a 'disconnection' between your internal and external life.

... and I would guess you are much more 'introvert' than 'extrovert'.

Yes I’m a super introvert.

this is a bit controversial to say, but I experience my internal state as very independent of the external. So yes you have a point there with the disconnection

Do you see the external world as a place where much occurs that you have NO control over?

Depends on what you mean. Some things I can control like where I work to a degree, what I do with my free time, other things I can’t control like the weather or other people . I can say I usually don’t concern myself over external things

@Sugarcoat Have you deeply thought about what parts of your internal self energize you and give you meaning?

@Sugarcoat Maybe that's the problem. Inner materializes outer. To look for the value within you seek to manifest externally.

How else would you know what is and isn't meaningful and start to navigate your life in the direction of growth and nuance?

So you mean I need to figure out what I find meaningful?

Figure out that which you seek to figure out. I hear you're disconnected, uninspired, apathetic, anhedonic.

All that has to do with you finding nothing valuable in your life and surroundings.

Now if you seek to feel more connected, you gotta find something worth connecting with.

And what do you call such a thing? It's meaning that we define ourselves through and experience reality with.

It comes in many shapes and forms, not just social dogma, it can be experiences, vibes, desires, inspiration.

Whatever gets you excited, whatever you'd enjoy doing for a long time, find the common ground, its source.

Could you accept the idea that the external world is PART of your internal world. 'That' being a special PART - a part that operates under different laws and principles than what you experience as INTERNAL.

It is like a very ancient agreement was made - long before human beings came into existence. This agreement would produce the effect of splitting your mind between 2 very specific spheres of experiences: One Internal and one External. And every living-form - human or other - comes in this experience where we are identified to a physical body - and have this experience of an 'external world' - external to ourself (our body). ...that is a universal state that all living things experiences, and that we undertake as a 'FACT' - BUT that all genuine spiritual journey leads to the realization that ALL that which we perceive as EXTERNAL is actually INTERNAL.

Well the external world I see as a projection of my brain
