Genuine curiosity about the world- hallmark of evolution past orange?

Is an intense curiosity about the world, knowledge and ideas themselves, rather than just seeking out knowledge that will advance yourself- a pretty good indicator that a good portion of your psyche is beyond orange?

Of course, there's a lot more to it than that- but this seems to be a difference I spot quite regularly.
