Should I get married ?

4 posts in this topic

I’m 25 and have been in a relationship with a wonderful girl for a year. We love each other deeply, and she’s incredibly loyal and an amazing person. We share similar mindsets and values. Recently, she’s been talking about getting married, and while it feels like the right step, I’m hesitant. I feel like I’m still young and focused on building myself, and I worry that marriage might hinder my personal growth. What do you think?

Probably not the best place to ask such a serious question.

Personally, I think it's too young you've got more life to live and things to experience but how does that idea feel in your body? Also, a year is relatively short, what's the rush? Don't let her pressure you into it.

If you are asking to me I will say no, just because you have doubt. If you genuinely want to, no problem, go ahead. Just before you do, know what you need to do to sustain the relationship. It will not hinder your personal growth in general (if you use the time to reflect), but your personal growth will go in different direction than your current model.

If it feels like the right step, you shouldn't worry about it hindering your personal growth.

Marriage is full of problems. The experience of facing and tackling them will definitely grow you.
