Bought a Book, got Trolled by the Publisher

1 post in this topic

So I ordered this book about an art project that explores the philosophical implications of AI and the blending of the "natural" and the "synthetic" as it relates to sexuality and the body. The book basically showcases the author's self-experiment of creating deepfake pornographic content of herself and publishing it online, accompanied by essays from contemporary philosophers who deal with sexuality in their work, including Slavoj Žižek.

Anyway, the book came with this kind of piercing that sealed it shut, and it was almost impossible to remove; it took a lot of force.

I thought that was a very clever idea, as it made the transgressive nature of the book that much more apparent and stirred up an almost irresistible desire to finally see whats inside.

“Did you ever say Yes to a single joy? O my friends, then you said Yes to all woe as well. All things are chained and entwined together, all things are in love; if ever you wanted one moment twice, if ever you said: ‘You please me, happiness! Abide, moment!’ then you wanted everything to return!” - Friedrich Nietzsche
