A calcified shelled animal that attaches itself to submerged surfaces? it has to be related to mussels or oysters, right? Wrong, Barnacles are Crabs!

Woah, I just realized I've never seen the actual organism part of the barnacle before. Aka. the "squishy bits".

Interesting video. Underwater life is so fascinating and alien.

 

Fun Fact: You can eat them. Supposedly they taste good, though I've never tried it before.
