Philosophical Counseling

I'm very interested to know more about Philosophical Counseling and hoping we could make a thread all sharing the info we found.

Here is an example of a real session:

Nicholas came to me because he was disappointed with Jordan Peterson's realistic advices (get a job, don't dream, etc), which he tried to apply but which, Nicholas said, shut down his spirituality. Here is what a Philosophical Counseling session can look like. Sessions at the Philosophical Parlour are all different, and yet humans from all origins seem to want the same: to self-actualise while experiencing well-belonging with others.

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty. We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Virtuous and Conscious. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life God is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, ... Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

I am very interested in it too. It's definitely not too far from my LP. I haven't finished the LP course yet but I already wrote down "releasing people from existential pressure" as that resonates the most with me so far.

I once had a moment where I deeply needed a philosophical counseling. I was hurt and in a deep existential crisis about the meaning of the world. I somehow figured out that there is duality in reality but didnt know what to do with that because I had a very very limited understanding of it but also couldn't let it go. I made a very pessimistic meaning out of that that reality is pointless and all that because everything we achieve will let something else look bad. Or not? And what was the meaning of anything when we would all ultimately die? I was lonely and confused and unaware of that and needed some higher understanding/ meaning to make sense of everything. Whenever I was at my lowest point and fell into a short moment of despair my intuition gave me a short signal. A little fragment of a higher consciousness of love and peace beyond duality. That was the realest thing in my experience and it was my North Star which I pursued which let me to Alan Watts and Leo later. Gosh I wish I could describe it more poetically as that really was a confrontation and war with the universe at the core.

So in my desperation I reached out to some philosophical dude on YouTube describing my situation and asking him for help as he seems like the only person I knew who could get what I am saying and help me.

After a few people called me a lunatic and my argumentation a dunning Kruger case in the comment section he replied that he thinks my points are all very deep and important and he also asked me what I needed to get better. This was a very important point in my life I just needed that little help where seemingly nobody in the world could help me with. Only then did I realize that you tend to care about the meaning of life when life is shit because you need a justification for continue living. And that to a certain degree humans aren't that complicated. Humans have basic needs beyond your conscious control and if you dont satisfy them you are unhappy. He couldnt help me with finding higher truths but I gained enough of a stepping stone. First meeting my basic needs spirituality after that.

You could also look at Pierre Grimes. You will find lots of videos where he goes through philosophical works with people. He calls it philosophical midwifery. Named after Socrates who likened his philosophical activities to his mother's profession of midwifery, where the other person basically does all the work and where he is just a facilitator of sorts.
