This is true, but this is sick and dysfunctional.
A society that values people because of their moniton, the shallow impression they give, and their facade, rather than their substance and true character, is a sick and dysfunctional society.

It is also true that part of this is ingrained in human nature, especially in the human mind, which finds it easier to judge others based on the swift first impression they give rather than look deeper. The human mind is in a constant survival mode, even if it’s not required from it. 

However, I believe that if we want to develop ourselves spiritually and evolutionary, we should strive to be better. More conscious of the deceptions of our minds and its distortion of truth. 

Instead of putting up a facade of a nice person while being a little demon inside, we should strive to be really the nice person who acts less selfishly in life.

If we don't want to be genuinely less selfish, then we should understand it has its own consequences and karma, often resulting in great suffering.

This also applies to strength and beauty or other virtues that people love to virtue signaling with, without, many times, any real substance to back it up.

Instead of manipulating people into thinking we are strong and powerful, we should work on the strength of our character.

Instead of investing so much time in beautifying our physical body, we should strive to beautify our inner world, thoughts and perception of the world.

And vice versa, we should be more mindful and conscious about the way we look at the world and other people, we should be more aware of our assumptions, beliefs, paradigms and dogmas which we are affected by on a daily basis.

And I'm not strictly heterosexual anyway (like I'm attracted to any gender potentially) or even intrinsically monogamous, what I mean is that reading threads like these make me feel less attracted to heterosexual men as a whole, lol.

Yes, sometimes it can happen. When they smell vulnerability they go for the jugular. Some have the nurturing and caring instinct stronger than that but usually you'll get both at different ratios.

You won't always be able to take care of yourself, that is the rude realisation of being sick.

I can handle every challenge but being ill takes the life out of me and I can't even help myself. It takes a very determined man to keep surviving alone in the midst of illness. I respect a lot individuals who are able to do that, as I struggle a lot when I'm sick. In a way, it seems as if all the personal work I've done in my life flies out the window and I'm left feeling shitty alone in my room.

A friend of mine has his own business and many times has to keep working even when very ill, as he has to teach in his English academy. 

It's a toughness and perseverance I am still developing; the strength of our ancestors to survive in the old times.

Not good to enter in a relationship with strong desires to change the other person so that it fits your personal biases, which everyone swears are universal.

Learnt this lesson the bad way believe me. Even if you're right, it leads to unstable systems.
