Can I plug N,N-DMT without an MAOI?

I've looked into it and have the equipment, but I've found confounding internet information. Do I need to consume an MAOI in order to plug regular DMT (pharmahuasca) or would there be active effects? Aren't MAOIs used only to stop digestive enzymes from destroying the substance, hence smoking it bypasses this? Why would I need to consume such a substance if the DMT is my rectum?

Plugging DMT does not work at all unless you have some rare genetics.

MAO is actually present in many bodily tissues, including the gut, liver, brain. It also serves to break down serotonin, and therefore, having mind-altering effects in itself (w/o accompanying DMT, but it also prevents DMT to be broken down in the brain). So its role in traditional Ayahuasca is greater than just allowing DMT to bypass the digestive tract.

That said, there are indeed few reports of people using it rectally, as Leo said. I was also interested in this ROA to smooth-out my vaporized trips -- I feel the vapor ROA kinda shocks my system.

What I am trying is doing the classic Pharmahuasca version: B. Caapi TPA extract followed by oral DMT mixed with fresh orange juice (for the freebase DMT to be neutralized into the water-solluble DMT citrate) 30 mins later. I am reporting my results here.
