The book by G Leonard is an old book by today's standard. It explains the processes on how to be a master. If you read up the life of Leonard, then you can probably tell that he's really a master at his craft and he has mastered his life to a high degree.

The book Mastery by Robert Greene mostly showed that he's a good researcher and a good writer. It doesn't say much about his life. The book showed different examples of how other people achieved mastery. Although it contained many examples, the ideas may be scattered and people will still be lost on how to achieve mastery before or after reading the book.

yeah , but ideas in his book is made  by observing akido , a sport martial art. Knowledge work is different from sports .  A system made by observing sport is not optimal for knowledge work . The system for doing knowledge work should be made for knowledge work

its basically find your talent and intrest + put 10,000 hours in it. It is an average book with fantastic writing style. The only thing good in the book is the writing style. The core idea is flawed

There's another Mastery book called The Art of Mastery by Peter Ralston!

I found the book at the library.

@Ramanujan Have you actually read the book by Robert Greene? It has very concrete strategies for attaining mastery, definitely not just ”put 10000 hours into it”.

In my experience it is at least 100 times more practical than George Leonard’s book.
