Be very explicit about your purpose

I used to think I was very driven by a rather specific purpose, but I didn't have it written down in solid and explicit terms. It existed mostly as an idea in my mind and as a feeling.

But then, I ran into some difficulties which tested my commitment to my purpose, and because I hadn't made it completely explicit, I noticed my mind having difficulties tracking whether I was heading in the right direction.

Then, I started trying to figure out why I was feeling so confused, thinking a lot about what my purpose really is, writing a lot about it and explicating clearly what it is and how I will pursue it. And now, I landed on something which I believe is more meaningful and more in line with my values than I had initially conceived and felt.

Even more importantly, by having explicated it in this way and having created conditions for how parts of it will change depending circumstances and how it will certainly not change, I have solidified it so much more, to the extent where my resolve and my drive is seemingly stronger than ever before.

Explicating and solidifying your purpose in this way I think is one of the most important things you can do for maintaining a strong sense of meaning and purpose, which will feed and nourish your mind as it traverses the rocky path of self-discovery.

I completely agree.

I am becoming more and more obsessed with clarity (regardless what kind of domain we are talking about). Identifying all the relevant things and being able to know what things you should ignore in a given domain and in a given moment or time period is absolutely essential.

Regarding LP, the more clarity you have and the better you can spell out exactly the thing that you want to do or achieve , the better you will be able to attack it and the better you will be able to find and focus on the relevant things.

I think in a lot of cases, the reason why we don't know what to do is because our goal is not specified enough so its unclear how we could approach it. A good example for how important clarity is the XY problem.

The other important thing after you have clarity is laser focus on the relevant things (obviously without clarity you don't even know whats relevant). Casually doing certain beneficial habits (like going to the gym, meditation etc) can be good, but purposefully doing those things and knowing exactly why you do those things and what you want to achieve exactly with those things will help to actually get results.

Imagine being able to spell out the exact purpose behind 90% of your daily actions (including micro actions). An Insane amount of time and energy is wasted because of the lack of goal orientedness behind our micro actions.

The other really underrated thing that everyone knows about ,but almost no one takes it seriously enough is tracking your progress and consciously creating an environment where you can periodically get feedback.

100%

Actually, your reality maps are entirely running on linguistic distinctions.

The more precise, concise and clear your language, chances are that your life is powerful.

In NLP, they talk about an interesting distinction that people who are masters or are extremely effective in some areas of life have a deep, clear, concise, specific way to relate to that area using language.

Wow thanks, I’ll try this.

I want to make travel content on YouTube and documentary videos on the platform, travel blogging and also content on spirituality mixed in, self help, maybe even offer coaching or offer travel itineraries. I also am an off the beaten path traveler so I like to tell interesting stories and go places tourists usually don’t see.
Any tips on how I can get more clear and creative on what I want to do and how I can align it with the flow of money?

Raising awareness and promoting my top 10 values in the business world.

I’m still figuring out the exact approach, but one idea I have is to create a cooperative where each worker is an equal partner. In the meantime, I try to be a good human being for my colleagues and to make their experience at work more positive.

Purpose: the reason why you undertake an action or course of action.

Let's add a couple of related terms:

  1. goal; and
  2. strategy

A goal isn't the purpose, but a form to realize it. The strategy is the specific plan you make to achieve your goals. Depending on the purpose, it could be fulfilled throughout the endeavour, not just achieved as the end result.

By the way, you should also do it with your values, although I see that done more frequently (and they're generally more easily to pin down as they are hyper-generalized concepts). Just writing them down in a place where you know where they are is good and consult them if you're ever unsure about something.
