Trump says you won't have to vote anymore after this election: it'll be fixed!

Trump meant that the issues will be fixed so good, that the people won't have to worry about voting next time.

Why wouldn't they need to worry about voting next time? As long as there will be elections in the future, that statement doesn't make any sense.

Think that statement through.  Lets go with Trump actually fixing giant problems and after 4 years the next election comes.  Why would Trump give room to democrats and to the deepstate to win the next election and potentially destroy everything that he fixed?

14 hours ago, questionreality said:

So if you guys think that he actually meant that in the context that there won't be anymore elections and he would be a dictator, that he just accidently slipped and said that?

it wasn't an accident and it wasn't a slip. Trump is probably aware that his followers will get charged by this rhetoric and he knows that they would be okay with him being a king with all the power in the world . You can literally see posts with like 60k+ likes on twitter where people say I would rather choose a dictator(Trump) than Joe Biden.

What you need understand is that the MAGA crowd has certain beliefs that necessarily leads to this direction. In their eyes, everything is corrupt and rigged againts them and  everything is controlled by the deepstate (including democrats) and only Trump can help. Given those beliefs and given Trump's rhetoric - of course you end up supporting dictatorship , where the dictator is the good guy, who needs to have power to actually have the ability to fight against the worst and most dangerous group of  people in human history.

There are almost no real centrists , all of them are right wing, they just don't have the spine to admit, because this way they can collect social credit for appearing less biased.

What is the point of questioning reality if you don't revise your understanding in light of better reasoning? You say you want evidence of Trump's racism, but do you?

Question: What are the common traits that make up the typical racist?

Answer:

  • hateful
  • spiteful
  • vindictive
  • likes controlling others
  • enjoys kicking down
  • motivated by superiority and domination
  • shows little empathy

Question: Does Trump possess all of these qualities?

Answer: Yes.

Combine the above reasoning with the fact he has a history of racial animus, although no recent slip-ups caught on camera.

Do these truths account for nothing in your assessment of the question, "Is Trump racist?" You might not be able to answer the question definitively but given his history and the cluster of character traits that have been on display for 8 years, your default position should be, "I wouldn't doubt that Trump is racist and it's probably even likely". Not, "I've never seen anything to suggest he's racist."

Your biases are failing you yet again.

Will you revise your understanding or cling to your bias?

I don't think you understand what racism is and just throw that term loosely around because you want to.

Racism is defined as:

Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.

If saying an N word 20 years ago makes a person even today racist, then a lot of people would fall into that category, which you normally don't call racist, such as Joe Rogan.

The traits that you listed are common traits not just person who is a racist, but a lot of other things as well.

So far, you didn't bring actual examples as to what makes Trump racist.

That's because you are willfully uneducated about the news facts:

Trump certainly is a racist. This is not my opinion but a matter of public record. As if it wasn't totally obvious.

@Leo Gura  I am still waiting for your full response to show me examples of why you think Trump is actually racist, - given that you said they are on public record. This one video of what happened 20 years ago is not really enough and you know it.

I don't think it's good to throw such terms lightly, because then it totally loses it's meaning.

He recently said in the last debate that immigrants are stealing black jobs. Can you explain to me what a black job is? And why would immigrants be "stealing" them?

Black jobs are the jobs that a large percentage of black people take - such as those that don't require high qualifications for example. In this case, he means that the immigrants are providing competition and taking away their jobs. What is so hard to understand about that?

umm, what? Do you realize that black people work in pretty much every type of job sector that exists in America? That's just racist to say a large amount of them take jobs that don't require high qualifications. Can you provide any source for that? And what's the percentage compared to other races?

Chill out... what this clown is trying to say is: just vote for me now, I'll fix everything so you won't ever need to think about politics again (and I won't be on the ticket so who gives a shit frankly).

The guy is so clearly too stupid for 1. realizing how easily his words can be used to portray him as the dictator he would like to be but won't ever be able to be because 2. he's a wanna-be, unfocused, impulsive and nowhere near intelligent enough to actually pull off the complete destruction of american democracy.

He's dangerous because he's batshit insane, incompetent, narcissistic and easy to manipulate, not because he's some american Putin with a master plan.

Let me be clear, he would LOVE to be Putin, but sadly for him, he just doesn't have it. Sorry.

He's little more than a puppet for far more dangerous actors to fatten their already morbidly obese purses and destroy the world in the process.

There is no leftist contradiction here. We have called Trump a racist conartist since 2015 and he has not disappointed us in that regard.

People doubt me when I call Trump the Devil. But devilry is not dumb, it is intelligent. So devilry perfectly describes Trump's actions. That's why I call him that, not because I hate him.

i say there are two smarts: one is i know what i want, two is i know what they want and can tap into the collective mood - i represent mr. average jo blow and therefore make a good leader, i don't think you choose this level of smarts, it is finding yourself the quintessential embodiment of a country

Notice how limiting your dictionary definition is. With your definition, would you ever be able to discern if someone is a racist without them openly admitting to it or it accidentally slipping out? No!

I've personally known many racists and can see for myself what it is and the simple list I provided, although incomplete and imperfect, does more to flesh it out than your dictionary definition. The list has the elements from which racism clusters with and spring from. It touches on the nature of racism and provides insight into what makes a racists, rather than simply how to use words to categorically label overt racism, which seems to be all you're interested in.

To acquire insights, the list items have to be contemplated, not simply glossed over. Don't read it like a definition. Ask yourself, "What is racial animus?"  and try to figure it out yourself. You have to stare deeply and contemplate the nature of a thing. Dictionary definitions are of little worth in the domain of insight and understanding.

If truth is the guide, there's no need for ideology, right or left.

Maturity in discussion means the ability to separate ideas from identity so one can easily recognize new, irrefutable information as valid, and to fully integrate it into one’s perspective—even if it challenges deeply held beliefs. Both recognition and integration are crucial: the former acknowledges truth, while the latter ensures we are guided by it.

I don't know this for sure, that was my guess as to what he meant. If it's backed up by data, I don't see how it can be racist?

This happens in every country. Go to Spain for example and you will see that some type of jobs usually Asians take, some Indians take, etc.

What does this have to do with being racist?

So you came up with your own definition of what is "racist" and you expect everyone to accept your definition?

What you can see for your self is purely subjective and is also heavily influenced by ideas which were put to you by other people.

The problem is that you are obsessed with race, and see race/racism issue in everything. This is the problem of the woke left that even many liberals (I consider myself one) are against.

Dictionary definitions have actually a lot of worth, otherwise how can you expect to have a consensus?

You actually have no idea what racism means and are throwing this term around very loosely. Thanks to people like you, the word loses it's power completely.

If you use the term “black jobs” don’t be surprised if someone calls you a racist, you can say white collar and blue collar jobs but you can’t really define what a black job is without sounding racist imo. Black people can have any type of job and they can’t be pigeon holed into one field or one type of job like trump is trying to say.

if you’re looking for instances of trumps racism and you say the only instance is of 20 years ago well this article proves you wrong https://www.vox.com/2016/7/25/12270880/donald-trump-racist-racism-history

from 2016 and I quote :

On the campaign trail, Trump repeatedly made explicitly racist and otherwise bigoted remarks, from

1.calling Mexican immigrants criminals and rapists, to

2. proposing a ban on all Muslims entering the US, to

3. suggesting a judge should recuse himself from a case solely because of the judge’s Mexican heritage.

4. to pandering to white supremacists after they held a violent rally in Charlottesville, Virginia,

5.

to making a joke about the Trail of Tears, Trump hasn’t stopped with racist acts after his 2016 election.

6. also having dinner with a known white supremacist nick fuentes and giving Kanye west his ear who is an anti semite.

7. Most recently, Trump has called the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus the “Chinese virus” and “kung flu”

8. he also accused Obama of never being born in the USA,

9. recently called Kamala not black and argued about it with black reporters.

10.Speaking about immigration in a bipartisan meeting in January 2018, Trump reportedly asked, in reference to Haiti and African countries, “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?”

11.Trump tweeted later that year that several Black and brown members of Congress — Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) — are “from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe” and that they should “go back” to those countries. It’s a common racist trope to say that Black and brown people, particularly immigrants, should go back to their countries of origin. Three of the four members of Congress whom Trump targeted were born in the US.

so basically here is the list, if it isn’t good enough for you to realize the man has a public record of racism then no one will convince you.

@Gidiot  Based on what you posted here, it is clear that you have no idea what racism actually is.

The deeper problem, is that you assume first that Trump is a racist in your mind and then try to find evidence to support your case.

Don't be surprised when some people vote for Trump, just because they protest against people like you and their ideology.

Here are a few that stand out to me, some others seem guilt by association, or a reach, but this list seems strong enough to argue it:

  • During a White House meeting in 2018, he referred to some undocumented immigrants as “animals”
  • He spent years suggesting that the nation’s first black president was born not in the United States but in Kenya
  • In July 2019, Trump suggested that four minority Democratic congresswomen, all of whom are American citizens and three of whom were born in the United States, should “go back” to “the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.”
  • He has retweeted white nationalists without apology.
  • He called some of those who marched alongside white supremacists in Charlottesville, Va., last August “very fine people.”
  • Trump has endorsed or praised politicians who have made racist statements, defended the Confederacy or associated with white supremacists, including Roy Moore in Alabama.
  • In the 1990s, Trump took out advertisements alleging that the “Mohawk Indian record of criminal activity is well documented.” At the time, he was fighting competition for his casino business.
  • In a 1993 radio interview, he suggested that Native Americans in Connecticut were faking their ancestry. “I think I might have more Indian blood than a lot of the so-called Indians that are trying to open up the reservations.”
  • Trump has trafficked in anti-Semitic caricatures, including the tweeting of a six-pointed star alongside a pile of cash.
  • In a White House meeting with a Korean-American intelligence analyst briefing him on Pakistan, Trump wondered aloud why she was not working on North Korea policy.

For me, Trump would say the moon was made of cheese if it got him votes, many politicians would. He just courts the ones that happen to be racists, white nationalists, and nazi's as part of his voting base. If these were instead African American, Muslim, or environmental activists you'd see him playing to them.

He doesn't care. As long as they say he's great.

The danger, of course, is that with those types of people funding you, and on your team, that's the type of policy or flavor of policy you'll see.

If I were to go and spend 1 hour contemplating "what is racism", my understanding of it would change or deepen and your dictionary cannot capture the realities and insights found in those depths. I don't expect you to go to those depths but just trying to show you they exist and you can go there if you want.

haha, I don't need to be told this. But you should know that not all people are susceptible to influence and bias to the degree that most are. You seem woefully ignorant of what this means. Some people don't rely on others to tell them what is what. Conformists do that.

I am not at all obsessed with race and nowhere close to what you would consider a "woke" liberal or leftist. I'm mostly apolitical but when the world started to praise Trump and a large segment of the population failed to see what was clearly before them, I started paying attention.

21 hours ago, questionreality said:

I said they don't hold much value in the world of deep understanding. If you want to ask "what is a thing", you can't penetrate what it is with words and labels. You have to look at its nature. And why do you want a consensus? Spoken like a true centrist 😂

21 hours ago, questionreality said:

This is foolish. It's not my fault you can't look beyond what your betters told you to call a thing. Think for yourself! There's no need for a consensus, unless you're in a debate or afraid you'll be ostracized.

I wasn't trying to convince you of my understanding of racism. I was trying to show you how I came to the conclusion that Trump is, at the very least, likely a racist and through a similar method, you could come to that conclusion yourself, but that means you'll have to leave your dictionary behind, strap on a sac, and as Neil deGrasse Tyson would say, travel into the great unknown! 😂

Trump in the interview with this association of black journalists was so funny, beautiful moments, the crowd was laughing. I think the best was when Trump said Kamala is not black, that she is Indian, but she has decided to be black now for the elections. He is trying to alienate Kamala from black voters, like she is not one of them, but I don't think that will work. She is ethnically mixed, that's not such a rare thing, and of course black people understand that, and she is definitely not white.

Another pearl was when he said black jobs. That's a pretty racist way of framing the labor issues. Because with gender at least you can argue that there are some biological differences like average strength or similars. But with race, what are you arguing? If there is a disparity, you can then analyze the hows and whys of this, and maybe try to offer some kind of route as a public political servant, or you are just racist.
