Facing death makes you more death-like; and why you should struggle for life

If you mean a "zoom" or "lower FOV" or a higher lens focal effect (like 35mm vs 50mm), or the video below:

Then that can be part of it and I experienced it on one of my hyper-heroic trips but that's just one effect the mind can activate and explore and there are infinite more, like for example phasing senses into each other or making things disappear or changing shapes, fractal geometry, intensifying colors, generating new sense experiences and exploring the in-between, navigating seamlessly between different microcosms and macrocosms, synchronicity hyperspace and a gazillion more.

I don’t know what u mean by a zoom or lower fov I just meant literally less 3D depth and the environment seeming “closer”. Not really like the vid either.

@Sugarcoat That's language for you. Do you mean everything flattening into 2D or maybe cubism or abstraction?

Everything flattening into almost 2d one could say. What I mean tho is that my sense of separation from the environment was so thin there was almost no depth perception left. Everything being kinda “in your face” close. Almost no sense of solidity too. I know it’s an unique experience i haven’t really encountered anyone who can relate

@Sugarcoat Hmm, I might have had moments, but it'd be hard to recall at this point. I remember staring at the horizon and seeing the imaginary line lose significance between ground and sky, resolving duality. I also remember sitting in my room, feeling to be the volumetric air and objects, almost merging with the ground. On one powerful trip, I became a mirror light reflection and there was no space for context or anything else, I also remember looking at objects and their front side having become all that I perceived to exist. I also remember space stretching and one of Leo's video about merging with objects (the classic become the coffee table example).

But the specific 2D flattening you're mentioning is not something I remember really experiencing in detail, or maybe I would have described it differently, but I can't really recall such an experience. It's quite interesting, I wonder how the other forum members compare.

I can kinda relate to what you said about only seeing the front side, almost merging with the ground but not the rest. I remember when I tried a little 5 Meo dmt, it was like the border between me and the world got partially erased (I only took a low dose) but it didn’t affect the 3D depth interestingly enough, like my other natural experiences. I believe it’s unique perhaps why few relate to it when I wrote about it. Only two on actualized  said they had  similar experience.
