Raising Conscious Kids: A Sage's Journey with Psychedelics, Reality, and Parenting

I'm the only one in my family that watches Leo's videos, doing the life purpose course, meditating, contemplating and a lot of reading books on spirituality, philosophy and psychology. Knowing all this material and having mystical experiences with an expanded mind I get worried about my twin toddlers, boy and girl and how they are influenced by extended families, and just sheer indoctrination. I do my best to instill in them consciousness and love, healthy foods and specific words. But it feels like going up against a wall as far as having family on board with this. Let me know how you can relate.

What family do you need onboard?

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Don't forget that they have to go trough their own development. Like in spiral development, one has to explore each stage and most people do this unconsciously. They can go through it rather quickly, especially if you will be present in their lives and do a good job at providing a good background for them.

Kid's are like sponge, they are going to learn through osmosis and one highly conscious parent is already a blessing.

You can stand guard and make sure they are not stuck in any major traps in life, but you cant guarantee they will be interested in consciousness work. Most people are not interested in meditation etc. What you can do is being in the present when they are around, just cultivate presence in them, Eckhart Tolle style.

Leo has a video, "How to raise Rockstar kids" I think everything I would have to say is said there. And then you can worry about their spiritual development when they are grown ups.

I also have to admit I don't know what I'm talking about, this is just my opinion.

Your attitude and presence can influence them more than any advice. Be gentle and patient, keep your comments positive and infrequent. Share interesting stories about conscious beings. Be available when they need advice or support, but don’t push anything on them. And remember, don’t overinvest.

Both of us will be consumed.

My blood and your blood, my suffering and yours is the essence that nourishes the tree of existence.'"

model what integrity and forgiveness looks like, and don't just model it, explain in an appropriate way how you are treating the world in terms of attitude (mind) and action (form)

the world is a classroom not a prison, explain this

What about kids raised in places like hippy communes where there’s hardly anything but love, positivity, healthy environment etc? Do even they have to go through the lower stages? It seems like in that setting they could start off at green

@Emotionalmosquito Im pretty sure you have to go through each stage anyway, its just that some people will get to green in their teenage years, while others are stuck with a blue core in their whole life.

My understanding is again mostly based on what i learned from Leo. What we are talking about here is the development of self identity and how we relate to the world.

  • So you start off as an infant, with no sense of self at all.
  • Then at some point you will have the realisation that there is you and there are others.
  • Then as your competence grows in childhood so will your sense of identity develop too. Your parents will expect you to behave in a certain way, you get introduced to society, you get more responsibilities in life, and so on.

These are soft limitations on your development, meaning they are supposed to be aligned with your cognitive competence and can be done in a wildly different pace and quality, BUT you cant skip them.

Hard limitations of your self identity is your body and mind. I would imagine an alien who does not have to eat and can heal itself has a totally different way of relating to the world as we do. So does a yogi who tears down he's sense of separation from the world.

If we are to develop our culture it is vital to understand these concepts, but thats a different post. (I already spent like an hour just to articulate this much... This is why Leo is a genius)
