Perception. Why?

11 posts in this topic

This forum has seem to dried up recently in the amount of new posts. Here’s a question I’ve not seen truly answered here (at least recently). Why does THIS produce apparent individuals with perception (I.E an apparent something observing an apparent something)? Why not no perception? And don’t say because the universe was bored and wanted to create a friend- we’re not in kindergarten.

Because.

It really ends in mystery. And any story, any reason we make up is just a conceptual structure we would try to put on something so raw, so spontenous and immediate and mysterious that it just silly :x

In the Vast Expanse everything that arises is Lively Awakened Awareness.

But doesn’t the simplest possibility make the most sense? Occam’s Razor. Wouldn’t no apparent perceiver with no perception be the simplest? Every nonduality forum I go on nobody can answer this- but it seems very fundamental

try talking to a hat for a week and pretend it has human perceptions bring it with you and talk to it about the things you are seeing, and make up its answers . A human body is like a hat that makes sounds back. God is the seperation between the hat and the background. Whenever you seperate something from the background of reality you are giving is characteristics in neurons. If you see something you have never seen before you wouldnt know what to feel. God is your entire field and it uses its intelligence to form false outlines around things and the background. Everything is the background. Every outline is a perception you have pre built in your body thought experience. Bodies do not pick up the same sensations therefore a senstation of a thing is not the truth of the thing its just made up by you and your body. The second picture is the awareness of the entire screen with no context. It is awareness There are no people in the second image there are no objects its just one thing the awareness of being there no perception and it takes place on one dimension. 3rd image is you continueing on past reality you can see the red outline does not stop at the image it keeps going and you can zoom out from the light further and further till there is nothing there and you are a void of nothing and God is there which is just the red outline. You are making up perceptions because you are dreaming they are there. perceptions exist cause you are making them up. You have to look at your awareness like its a computer because your body is a computer.

In perception, no one is producing perception.

You don't smell the smeller
You don't see the seer
You don't think the thinker
etc.

What do you mean by "this"?

Perceptive organs are biological inventions for the purpose of survival. For example, hearing a threat beforehand has an evolutionary advantage, whereas an amoeba has to be poked for it to move away from the danger. Perception doesn't have to be accurate--represent reality as it is--as long as it works for our survival.

What about apparent individuals? Is that somehow produced by "this" (existence) or by you?

But this is just an answer. Looking into it and having insight is another thing.

I wonder if the brain produces the illusion of self, it makes sense because psychedelics can temporarily erase sense of self by interaction in the brain

I think it is quite simple, without perception there is no existence. unperceived reality, what is it? is something? exists? Existence is synonymous with perception. everything perceives itself, I suppose even a proton perceives itself in a way incomprehensible to us. The perception of infinite holons combines to create broader and deeper perception.

Could there be no perception or reality? Yes, but there is perception, so non-perception is not there. Will it be there at some point? not because that some point only exists if it is perceived. Perception is the light that creates the existence.

Objects that are closer to one another interact more frequently with each other than objects at a further distance, and therefore experience stronger gravitation. Perception exists because it's natural to assume that the phenomena closest to the point of observation are you than the things that are far away and obscured by the closer things. An unbroken unity does not perceive and become self-aware until the conception self and not self. It is the focusing of attention that leads to the creation of the self.
