Sorry if this is a personal question if you feel uncomfortable with me asking this question

but what was Russia’s whole problem with Syria

and why is Russia attacking Ukraine now?
I’ve heard a lot of discussion about it. And now that North Korea has sent troops to Russia what are your thoughts about what’s happening ?

Russia was asked to save Assad in 2015

Assad was losing so much ground in Syria and he was about to be toppled.

Russia helped in that it provided air strike support which destroyed Syrian cities that contained rebel fighters and regular Syrians.

Syrians consider Russia a terror state because the air strikes caused a lot of regular people to be killed and many towns destroyed.

In exchange of the help, Russia got some deals on the coast of Syria that involved establishing bases, extracting phosphate and other valuables.
Russia got involved in Ukraine because they believe it is Russian land and I’m sure there other reasons.
That’s my understanding.

if you have any questions let me know.
