Man! I think the entire Democratic base is going to be so fired up!

Cenk, Sam Seder, Kyle Kulinski, Vaush, BTC, the Pod Save American Bros., etc. and every other liberal/progressive out there are already in such great ecstasy over Walz!

I think Michael Moore is also going to love this pick!

I never thought that there would already be this much enthusiasm for a Democratic presidential ticket. This really is feeling a lot like Obama in 2008.

Maybe, just maybe, we now might have a real chance of defeating Trump and MAGA again.

Walz comes off as a very relatable guy to the average everyday America, especially to those in middle America and rural America. He also comes off as a badass who is willing to fight hard for the people and attack Trump and MAGA hard.

I think he also should be able to do well with helping Harris win over enough moderates and Independents. In fact, he was already well known for a long time for being a "moderate" during his time as a congressman for several years. Even a significant number of conservative leaning folks and anti-Trump Republicans really seem to appreciate Walz.

Plus, more importantly, he did an incredible job with enacting many progressive leaning policies during his time as governor of Minnesota!

From what I'm hearing, Walz sounds like a good pick to please the whole spectrum of the Democrat party, from left to right. Shapiro was the other that was sounding with the best chances, but there were some issues with him that part of the base wouldn't like. First big decision of Kamala, good one.

The democratic base definitely seems to like Walz. They will make a good ticket together.

@Leo Gura what do you think about Tim Walz as now confirmed VP?

I guess he's solid.

Walz is a good pick. Charismatic, yet plain midwestern man that Republicans are going to have a very difficult time attacking effectively, just like they have so far with Kamala.

I think Walz will really connect with the middle class. His speeches are clear, compelling, and relatable.

I remember a debate where Tulsi Gabbard completly whiped the floor with her.

The US political just seems broken from an outside perspective. Those are your only choices Trump or Harris.... really? I guess RFK jr. would be the best choice.

I don't like this weirdo language, it is needlessly vague.

The bottom line is that Trump and Vance are both corrupt and dangerous. Anyone can understand that. I don't see a need here to pander to children.

Weirdo is how you might describe Trump to a 4 year old child.

Think about it. What scares adult conformists the most? The last thing they want to be is weird. I wonder if that’s the main reason the attack works. It’s the effect on their energies that is important, not the message. It really was a clever attack IMO, but it’s time for it to die before it becomes cringe.

Optics wise , Kamala and Walz look great together. Side by side comparison, these two look competent, energetic, and ready to roll up their sleeves while Trump and Vance look like burnt out bullshitters who need a break from their con games.

You see Harris x Walz pick and think "I would have preffered RFK jr."? You are the type of guy to go to a gourmet restaurant and then say I would have preferred KFC. Like there's no comparison, they are both proper professional politicians and RFK is a mess with weird ideas.

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty. We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes virtuous and Conscious. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life God is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, ... Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

Maybe RFK is a weirdo but Harris is terrible. The democratic party just appointed her. Isn't there supposed to be a pre-election to select the right canidate? Anyway President Harris wil just be more war. At least RFK seems like someone who would not seek out war. He did a lot of good in his life. Harris was in the prison business.

You sure about that? RFK jr. is even more pro-Israel and more hawkish about the war in Gaza than even Biden and Trump have been. Not once, has RFK jr. called for a ceasefire or even mention a word about the suffering the Palestinians have been going through.

At least, Biden, Harris, Walz, and the rest of the Democratic party have been wanting to put an end to the war in Gaza and to help save as many innocent lives in Palestine as possible.

Also, Harris was already on the same ticket as Biden was. Plus, look at the record amount of small dollar grassroot funding there has been for her and the tremendous amount of enthusiasm there has been for her. If that doesn't represent what the Democratic voters throughout the entire country truly want for their Democratic nominee for president, then what does?

The weird attacks are actually rhetorically brilliant... but only when followed up by how Trump, Vance, and other MAGA Republicans (in reference to Project 2025) tend to be busy-bodies who are obsessed with stuff that most normal people don't want and don't care about... like banning books, banning in vitro fertilization, tracking women's menstrual cycles, banning abortion without exceptions, banning birth control, banning porn, and other extremely authoritarian unpopular positions... many of which have to do with controlling women's bodies. Not to mention the fixation on trans people.

Most normal people who don't get their politics from 4Chan, aren't fixated on all this sexual grievance politics stuff. And this is reflected in polling and in direct ballot initiatives as even red states vote overwhelmingly pro-choice.

These fringe positions that MAGA focuses on aren't kitchen table issues. So, most people don't care that much about them... even if they do lean to the right. Many Trump supporters even have zero clue about his policies and just like the "tough guy" Trump image.

And rhetorically... you'll also want to consider that people don't mind being associated with a dangerous candidate... as this adds to the "tough guy" appeal that Trump wants to give off. And the base LOVES when people characterize Trump as dangerous... because they like the image of him as a renegade who's upsetting the system.

And even though you and I know that's silly. It's how a lot of low information voters and politically disengaged people can think... and what they can get drawn into. And those are the voting blocks that especially matter right now.

And the weird attacks are doing something in the eyes of the normies, that's similar to the dynamic where conservatives started portraying anyone left of center as a weirdo ugly raving lunatic with blue hair.... screaming strangely at someone in the middle of the street. And this weirdo image has chased lots of people away from the left... simply because they don't want to be associated with weirdness and extremes.

Even center lefties might fall into disavowing more leftward positions because they want to avoid being seen in that weird light. And that's what a great offensive political characterization that emphasizes weakness and patheticness INSTEAD of danger and corruption does.

And most of all, normies don't want to be associated with weirdness.

Normies want to be normal. And conservative-leaning normies ESPECIALLY want to be normal.

If the weird characterizations stick, and they seem to be, then this could take some decent sized chips out of Trump's normie vote.

Honestly, consider how a lot of people think...

If he's dangerous, he's one of the cool rebellious kids. But if he's weird, he's just a lame kid and probably smells bad... and people won't want to get that smell on them.
