It’s a Dog’s life

27 posts in this topic

I’m new to the forum, it’s actually a first time for me in any forum. As I write my experiences in form of replies to you all I am reminded of the greatest thing that ever happened to me and helped me the most with my self development and understanding of what this experiance here on earth can be. So I thought I will make a post about it.
Some years ago now, as I was studying shamanic cultures I came to realisation that most of what I have learned up until that point about what would be the happiest experiance of this life, what is this experiance about and how to experiance it.  Also as it turned out  how to approach a lot of human like problems, those completely mundane ones as well as spiritual ones.
This experiance is having a dog.
Going back to the story as I was studying it prompted me that all of those teachings led to similar conclusion or assumption that ultimately we are all seeking a positive experiance, a happy one. I was contemplating on what I have learned and looking at my dog it hit me, this is it, my dogs experiance is exactly what I’m trying to experiance, want to experiance. His pure happiness , living moment to moment , staying completely in the present moment, feeling emotions but only in the moment. Dogs sometimes get scared but when scary thing ends they just move on to the next thing that makes them the happiest in that moment, or in to whatever is happening in the next moment, they almost instantly forget about it.  My dog was my greatest teacher all along I just didn’t recognise it. Dogs don’t have a sense of time, they don’t even know they are getting older ( at least this is what we know about dogs so far through experiance of science) dogs are not bound by humanly problems or wonder about the meaning of life, they just experiance it.

Do you think we can learn self actualisation , self development and how to experiance life from or with the help of animals?

Wasn’t there evidence that long time meditators had smooth brains? Which is what animals have and I think that’s related to the point you made to just experience life without thinking about that you’re getting older or time.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

Dogs are beyond a gift. Humans don’t deserve dogs (for the most part)

Interesting, I will do some research on this. Thank you

Dogs are such bundles of joy! Your post really made me more aware and appreciative of all the dogs throughout my life. They're almost like an ideal, so playful and direct. I've lost touch with the present experience in the last years and now I realize the value as I regain it. I still seek to understand larger contexts, but even that I can now transmute into an experiential reality, thinking has its limits and there's no reason to focus on it standalone, which I've previously subconsciously done, as it flows and is interconnected with one's experience, emotions and everything else.

@Keryo Koffa My doggo is my greatest teacher, he really does remind me every day of importance of staying in the present, I am grateful he exists and I am so amazed that we live, coexist and experiance together, sometimes im so full of awe for him being with me it is hard to contain , and I love that feeling , true gratitude, not to anyone or anything , just pure gratitude for this experiance.

It's a dog's life, lies GOD assigns, despite bits and pieced lies gotten wide, kinda like Great Britain's wide empire, 1/3 world ordered the third Reich so jealous they bombed London!(yikes.).

I spits on the grave of Nazis, that not see the face of misery they accompany across Europe, letting some dirty Sanchez moustache guy buy their dream and web them into lies! Our fore fathers and mothers bore scares and fears and cared enough to sacrifice. Yet despite their tremendous fight, we a flighty soft snow flakey gen of vice flocking cowards that birdie the old and flying down the cliff to meet the ground! Post modern this, moral relativity that, while I seep tea and behold this spectacle of peeps fleeing in sprees thinking their posts really count for ANYTHING!

@Evelyna what you are looking for is getting out of the web of meaning and opening yourself to the reality. It is a difficult work since as humans we have many genetic buttons that push us into that spider web, into the social matrix, into the constant activity of mental flow that encapsulates us and isolates us from reality, creating a bubble of imaginary identity and illusion of control.

welcome to real work, to the liberation of the mind.

Thank you for the input.
Imaginary identity and illusion of control? I really don’t understand how you got to that reading the post. I see your perspective but I would never tell you , you should or shouldn’t do something, or what it is you are looking for ,  that’s an imaginary identity, means of control, and your own bubble, and that’s fine if you fine with it, I choose my own outlook. If you said “ you COULD get out of the web of meaning” your reply could be more appropriate, this would present a possibility instead you presented your perspective as a necessity.

Well, The thing is that all humans function at that frequency, not direct as a dog, and there is only one way to get out of it, which is to be able to stop the meaning software at will, and it is not easy to do so, and its more or less the same for all of us

I have a cat; and I have all my life had cats. They have taught me so much and I'm grateful to have my current cat as a companion. Finicky beasts they are and very "sometimish", but that's ok because I am too. Hehe. I never had a dog, even though I love them too as with all animals, because they require so much time and care and when I'm away I can leave my cat for a couple days and not worry because cats are independent and don't require to be walked or spoon fed like most dogs do.

Your post is on point, though, because dogs, as well as cats, can teach so much about unconditional love and being in the moment.

There is always another way to do something, I can not agree that there is just one way.

Dogs are much better than cats.

Dogs come from heaven and cats from hell.

God created cats to show how good a dog is.

@Heaven Hell is being stuck in judging and comparing creatures and creating an ideology of one being superior
