How many lives have been saved?

Mine.

Self actualization saved me from a lot of suffering.

Not that I think that all suffering is bad but definitely my life could be worst without Leo’s teaching.

Thank you Leo🙏🏻 @Leo Gura

Exactly, Leo's teaching is to avoid suicide at all cost, all his advises can be accepted technically by anyone, you don't need money, hot girls or fame. All you need is to be with yourself.

A long time ago I read an interesting article about Pfizer's Prozac, an anti depression pill. It was selling very well, except Japan. There, people have a mentality that life is like a river, you must have good days and bad days. So if you have few good days you need to expect bad days. And they could not sell anti depressants. So they made an evil plan, invested 5 billion (dont quote me on the number) and introduced American Culture there, movies, shows, reality TV and so on. Basically the American pop culture is to have high paying job, live in a mansion, fuck the most beautiful girls and drive Lamborghinis. An average person, at best can have one or even half of the items, so after I believe five years, the experiment worked and people started to fall into depression and the Prozac started to go fast.

So if Leo was teaching that, I can understand people be suicidal, but its the other way around.

And one more thing, I just started a small topic, but even on this thread, I feel like the idea of suicide is not new phenomena for some people here when it comes to personal level. Interesting how intimate this topic can be.

@Gennadiy1981. This is just a conspiracy theory with no evidence. Yes there was Western influence in Japan, yes Antidepressiva didn't sell well. Yes pharmacy spend money on marketing.

But don't mix these events together. Pharmacy has not orchestrated this all and did not spend this amount at all. That's nonsense and based on bro facts. Don't believe everything you read on tiktok or wherever you have that. Please research more before you post such things.

As far as amount of money goes, i said don't quote me on that, i read that article long time ago so i don't remember. But you missed the point. Its not about how much they spent, the idea is, the western mentality has a concept where you need to be successful and rich, and since many people cannot achieve such a state they fall into depression and In would assume thats where the suicide stems from. See people in Japan I believe are more into Shintoism, where material happiness is not the most important and hence with that mentality you be less likely to commit a suicide.

And to your other point which is outside the scope of this topic, of yeah, those pharmaceutical companies are super corrupted, I can vouch form first hand experience, long time ago I actually did lobbying at Capitol Hill, and there, inline you see bunch of pharma companies doing extensive lobby. This is not a conspiracy but something that I can vouch as I epxrienced it myself.

We have suicidal people on this forum. Plenty of them in the mental health sub-forum. It's sad and I hope they seek out face-to-face help because a forum is not enough to fix that.

I have spoken to some of them and they are very stuck. Unfortunately I don't have the time nor skill to coach every one of them.

I've gone through very difficult health problems so I understand how hopeless and miserable life can get.

I used to have suicidal thoughts before Leo. And many times during. It was because I wasn’t using my mind and energy properly. The mind easily fools itself.

People need to:

1. Study how to heal trauma

2. Study rational cognitive behaviour

3. Take proactive steps and do the basic things for feeling well: daily affirmations, eating well, sleeping well, self compassion, exercise/ Qigong, problem solving,

4. Study/ develop adversity quotient/ learned optimism

5. Learn self love

6. Clean your living environment

7. Socialize

8. Learn to let go

9. Visualize a positive future

10. Seek help from professionals often throughout the journey toward life affirming, positive, rational energy/ thinking

Leo’s teachers have always been very pro life lived well

besides that, some people are also just clinically ill and need meds to regulate their neurotransmitters. if your brain chemistry is off it will make your life miserable .  Ofc, first do all thats in your power to regulate them manually and naturally.

But this is a very mall minority, most of the issues are because of not understanding the straightforward conditions for human happiness, and not knowing how your mind and beliefs are at the very essence of your emotions and behaviors . Some people's minds rot over time and become so twisted and entangled with attachment to different ideas  that nothing can save them if they are closeminded enough

then again serious health issues are a bitch

That's good, but you already have to be pretty functionnal to start doing any of these things. Sometimes people need external help to start with, to unlock the ability to do these things. I don't necessarily mean help from psychologists though, as their capacity to help is pretty limited and that kind of therapy is extremely slow, but to find the right people at the right time to do the right type of work/healing, can be the most helpful events for some people towards healing, as it can help unlock deep blockages, causes of fatigue, suffering, and so forth, when they can't do it by themselves.

It's quite common to be unable to access parts of the subconscious and stuff at the soul level as a human. Issues are not always coming from the human mind only. We are much more than just the human mind. At least, from my experience and the experience of people around me (which are not necessarily dealing with depression), problems can come from other places than the physical body and the mind, though everything is connected.

In the end, it all depends on the depth of the issue and the level at which it is truly located.

I think this is true, but for a small amount of people. I actually think, though I am still gathering perspectives that a lot of these medications are garbage and the idea of chemical imbalance is way way way over prescribed.

I am pretty sure most of the anti anxiety/ depression medications pushed my the psychiatric/ pharma is pseudoscience. I’ve seen documentaries recently showing how damaging they can be when most people would have recovered without them.

Yeah, I think that many people can heal if given the right tools and guides. I’ve been suicidal many times and overcome it.

@Clarence I’ve listed what worked for me. Everyone is unique, and the causes of depression are varied.

I deal with both mental and physical illnesses. If there is a difficulty level higher than legendary, then I’m surely living it!

However, you introduced the list by saying "people need to", rather than "what worked for me". That changes the whole meaning of your message.

Journaling is huge. You can just write shit down, anything as long as you are not using it to reinforce your own bullshit. And then there are proper techniques like sentence completion.

@Clarence Well, actually if you don’t have self love, rational thinking, problem solving, adversity quotient, healthy energy, proper sleep and nutrition, exercise, healthy habits, you’re probably neurotic and depressed. So yes, you need to do these things.

I can’t speak for those few cases where someone has some kind of brain issue, or brain/ nervous system toxicity and physical damage.  But I assume if they did these things long enough they would see some results. But, some people are autistic so who knows how messed up brains can be.

In order to be mentally healthy and enjoy life you just simply need to do the right things. People over complicate this.

1. Self Love

2. Ground and center yourself

3. clean your environment

4. Invest in a healthy meal and clean water

5. Do some of my Qigong routines

6. call friends, family, and hotlines

7. Accept that this too shall pass

8. Let time do it’s work

9. Once grounded decide to simply observe your life, finances, habits, challenges, mistakes, difficulties, fears etc objectively and focus on solving them objectively.

Practice self compassion, it’s okay to feel bad and down. It’s okay to have movements of pain, doubt, fear and self hatred. This too shall pass.

You are loved by the universe my friends. Trust.

Feeling good is something you can learn to do. It’s not a matter of worth, or other peoples opinions, etc.

When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No, I won't be afraid
Oh, I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand
Stand by me

So darlin', darlin', stand by me
Oh, stand by me
Oh, stand
Stand by me, stand by me

If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
Or the mountain should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry
No, I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand
Stand by me

And darlin', darlin', stand by me
Oh, stand by me
Oh, stand now
Stand by me, stand by me

And darlin', darlin', stand by me
Oh, stand by me
Oh, stand now
Stand by me, stand by me

Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me
Oh, stand by me
Won't you stand by
