Lies of P: Water down version of dark souls

People are going crazy for this game the reviews are insane and the only reason I could think is that people have not played the first dark souls and so are freshly entering this game in are unaware that this is just a water down version of a past masterpiece.

This trend seems to happen a lot lately especially in anime where you have popular shows like jujutsu Kaisen that is a water down version of Naruto with less character development less life lessons and overall the genius behind the creation of previous work is not there and everyone is fooled because they have never been exposed to higher levels of work.

i’m probably spoiled but it’s very difficult for me to play these games/movies when it is blatantly obvious that the creators did not capture the essence of what made the original so good.

I understand it’s very difficult to be a creator.

The 2 biggest problems with lies of P is that the map is linear with no exploration and the enemies take no intelligence or skill to defeat. All the bass enemies are very weak are stunned easily creating high levels of boredom that paired with a linear map where you just walk in a straight line.

in the original dark souls every enemy require you to use your intelligence to defeat or else you will die even the most basic enemy would kill you if you didn’t understand them. And if you were lazy you died even to very basic enemies.

The original dark souls the map was a spaghetti mystery every turn was a mystery everything looped back into something else there were reasons to backtrack and mysteries you couldn’t unlock the entire map was this big puzzle that you had to solve. The beginning of the map there’s a bunch of doors you can’t unlock until very later in the game where you figure out how to unravel these mysteries. Lies of P has none of that it’s a very linear game with no mystery at all.
