@Princess Arabia Exactly the point is what is the reason behind it, for a man if the reason is to enhance apperance like build muscle to attract a woman is a weakness and feminine vs enhancing his apperance because thats how he will better survive for example fighting off the attacker its all whats the reason.

Yeah, I get it. The reason. Still a personal choice and each person deals with it accordingly. Not for any other person to judge as we're on our own personal journeys.

NO, I didn't mean you personally. I know you don't judge women; in fact, you're harder on men than you are on women. I was just generalizing.

The amount of time people take out of their day to work out, cook and eat in a caloric surplus is insane, I personally couldn't handle it, I felt like I was missing out on so much stuff in the real world

You're missing out because you're spending 1 hr at the gym a couple of times a week and 0.5-1 hr to cook every day? Man, you must be a busy person.

so let's be honest, nobody does it for longevity or health, they all do it because they have body dysmorphia.

I can admit I started working out because of looks (and because my mom wanted me to be healthy lol). But what kept me working out is that it feels too good not to. It's like a drug without any side effects (roughly speaking), and it makes you more functional in virtually all domains (bodily, cognitively, energy levels, etc.).

But it's not like I stopped caring about looks either. The times I have gotten an injury where I had to slow down my training, I felt dysphoria, like I was not in the right body. But when I'm in peak shape, I feel pretty fine about my body. People with body dysmorphia basically never feel fine about their bodies, and that can definitely be a problem.

You don't have to be a total gym rat to maintain a good amount of muscle mass. Just make sure you prioritize protein and nutrient dense meals, do some form of strength training you enjoy, and go on a few walks if you find yourself being sendentary. A little goes a long way. Muscle mass and bone density is incredibly important as you age as it can prevent injuries, perserve your metabolism and energy levels, and keep your mobility.

You don't have to drink a whole gallon of water every day, obsess about getting 100-200g of protein, and go full body builder / athlete mode if you're just an average person who is looking to maintain their health over time.  I'm sure the kind of advice where you workout 7 days a week, do a shit ton of cardio, and get in your protein shakes is applicable to people who have specific atheletic goals, but for maintenance, I feel like most people are just over thinking things.

Guys relax going to the gym is fun, building muscle and getting stronger is fun, doing athletic sports and challenging yourself is fun.

if you’re doing it because you’re insecure and you’re desperate for a specific ego image of how you look like Then you missed appoint.

That was me. I used to be as big as that guy above. Now I'm skinny. Depression can really hurt you. I was working out since age 5 up until age 20. Now at 24 I have to restart everything. I only worked out to get women. Realized women don't care about body type and that shattered everything.

@MarkKol It's a profound waste of time... if you have an exercise pill. That's the context of that video.

Going to the gym would boost my mood. It was beneficial to my mental health. Improving your health feels productive. And it was more fun than shooting a basketball all by yourself which is fun to do too. So it's was a great pastime for me. Again, can't emphasize just how much my health improved from lifting weights. But, initially, I got into weight lifting because I was insecure about my body. I have Klinefelter syndrome, so after puberty I was left with a feminine body, with breasts and an hour glass figure to be specific. As a man, this isn't something that you want. But weight lifting made my body look much more masculine, and I'm forever grateful to lady iron for helping me out.

Joe Fazer is 6'4 (193 inches) and skinny, a full-time YouTuber with over 1,5m subs, probably the perfect body type for most women, and even though he improved his looks substantially by working out, eating better, and taking Accutane he's still insecure, he's still taking steroids at his age, he's still getting DHA spray painted to look more tan. What a joke! 99% of men look worse than this dude, including myself.

I couldn't count how many times I said to myself "I don't look good enough for her", it happened today as well.

Sure, I agree that the priority should be mind muscle connection and muscle strength over muscle mass. You need strong tendons and ligaments first so that if you do want more muscle mass, the joints, the bones, the tendons and ligaments can support a bigger mass. Speed and power should be first priority over muscle size.

Gym rats gonna gym rat.

Going to the gym to get girls is stupid.

Okay, I'm gonna challenge my own perspective here, don't you think that going to the gym would make you more male friends, which results in more women as well since you would usually go out with those friends, It's my own experience that if you just have fun in any social environment girls will automatically notice that and develop attraction.

Personally, I've never attracted a girl by coming up to her out of nowhere, maybe cold approach is just extremely ineffective and a great way to ruin your reputation in your city, since most of us don't live in big cities. My city's population is 1.3m.

Gaining muscle involves going to the gym as well as being in a caloric surplus when you do it, and I just can't be arsed. Kudos to someone who can actually reach a caloric surplus with healthy food, when I did it I drank 2 liters of full fat milk per day and I gained 5kg.

You cant ruin reputation when you dont have any, also this thing you wrote shows you have low self esteem, low self worth, low belief in yourself you cant attract nothing with that,so before saying its ineffective look at yourself first.

You cant gain pure muscle mass without fat fast it evens out in the end.

As a certified gym rat (previously callisthenics, currently powerlifting), I have found consistent exercise without much monitoring of my caloric intake as one of the most direct methods of increasing my wellbeing. I have never been in a gym before (No money). I'm doing some calisthenics with a bar in a public place, and push-ups indoors sometimes. And it gave me muscle gains, at least noob gains. Even despite diet changes. I think it was a massive ROI for such a small habit, and it's quite an effective way for me to increase Heart Rate, and I'm not feeling any more muscle soreness after waking up, and I can carry heavy grocery bags easier. I think perhaps for women once she sees me naked that would make some non-negotiable difference, even if subconscious.

So your dating strategy is to flash your nakedness to chicks so it's non-negotiable to the bed?🤣

It's not a profound waste of time developing mind muscle connection! It's worth it to build strength, not size but strength.

Oh no, fellow.

Don't get me wrong. That's only at the back-end of the funnel of getting a girlfriend, within the confines of the soul-bonding mating ritual, not at the front-end.

I meant "non-neglectable" my automated spell checker has sabotaged my words. By that, I mean, it probably improves by a statically measurable amount my SMV at the back-end, since, that's the only part of the sequence they would notice. On the front-end that amount might be too statistically insignificant to measure the impact on my conversion rates.

I might do a double-blind randomized trial to assess it, but I need at least 2000 female volunteers for the experiment (Between the ages of 20 to 23), selected by me (personally) from a pool of at least 200,000 prospects, which would roughly equate to the top to the top 1% percentile.

If you want material things and are going to play the maya game, having your body look toned with muscle is one of the best options to go for.

My arms are maybe twice as big as when I was in high school and if I could go back in time, would I come up with some excuse to not work out? No, of course not. For anyone wondering, I think that faster running made most of the progress, with the recent progress being from pullups.

You very likely don't want to still be skinny or fat or have flabby muscles 4 years from now, and you can work on that. You should likely work on that if you want to play the maya game.

It takes way less effort to maintain than to gain that kind of body too.
