Presidential Debate + RFK

The most awful part is that regardless of if Trump wins the election, the Supreme Court has initiated a judicial coup which gives any future president all of the tools they need to become an autocrat.

LegalEagle describes it as if the Supreme Court just effectively amended the Constitution to end checks and balances (which the Founding Fathers very much intended) for the Executive Branch. The president now has broad legal immunity to take bribes, make efforts to overturn election, attempt a military coup, or assassinate political opponents. The salt in the wound is that 5 of the 6 justices who gave the president the powers of a King were themselves appointed by presidents who lost the popular vote.

So in short, American democracy looks to be fucked. Hybrid regime here we come.

Using the supreme court to overrule the state is a standard regime change practice used by the United States to conduct subversive activities in democracies abroad. There are even books written on it.

It's a pleasure seeing the snake they let loose bite them back in the ass.

The supreme court has massive powers, and you only need to convince 4-5 people to be on your side, which is a little easier than convincing hundreds of millions of people to be on your side.

The supreme court can easily strike down democratic reforms simply because they can and nothing more needs to be said.

It already happened when Obama assassinated a US citizen without trial to no consequences, the court just formalized it.

Let me guess. Alphabet agencies (deep state) did it for him. Either way, he will never be convicted.

Either have endless power or a good lawyer and your past never comes to haunt you.

It almost sounds like you think that American citizens are deserving of collective punishment because of the actions of the US government over the past 100 years. Not a very compassionate take, especially since much of that clandestine foreign policy was done without the American public's informed knowledge or consent.

I wonder if you'd apply the same logic to the 1.3 billion people living in China for the actions of the Chinese Communist Party.

The people in China are suffering for the actions of the CCP. But the problem is that Americans are oblivious to the suffering of the people elsewhere even when it is caused by the US govt. They will even feel morally superior because they are the direct or indirect beneficiaries of American hegemony.  So, it is only fair that they pay the full price.

This is the problem playing with snakes. It will come back to bite you. This is by design. I do not wish collective punishment.

Now that the US is struggling with their own democracy, the rest of the world can live in peace. For that I am happy.

The subset of the US population that feels this way also happens to be the ones who are supporting the Christian Nationalist's efforts to end US democracy.

It's marginalized people within the US, along with Leftist and progressives who aren't on board with American imperialism who will end up suffering the most from the collapse of US democracy. Not the willfully ignorant, morally superior subset of the population that you're alluding to. US Hateriots expect Trump to be 'thier' dictator, and they're the worst of the worst as far as being oblivious to the harm that the US causes in other parts of the world.

I'd re-examine that punitive attitude if I were you. It's the equivalent of thinking that Germans in 1930s are getting thier 'just desserts' for World War 1, not recognizing the gravity of a vengeful dictator for people outside of Germany.

@Bobby_2021  and @DocWatts  it's a moot point whoever is at fault. Yes Americans are at fault for 100 years of ignorance of what their governments did, but the same for most Chinese being ignorant of the CCP and what it does. Both countries shares that same weakness of ignorance and suffering generation, therefore moot point not worth debating.

Leftist progressives do support American imperialism by supporting NATO expansion. In fact, it is the conservatives who argued against NATO expansion.

Entire villages in Ukraine are full of widows thanks to this bullshit expansionist American policy.

Having Trump would put an end to this so that even more women and children will not lose their fathers and husbands.

If some Americans get fucked over with Trump, I will consider it acceptable compared to the plight of having young men getting killed in wars. They also have families and people they love. Maybe spend some time thinking about them too.

Do you think the average nazi who silently supported Hitler should face consequences, even though he did no crime on his own? Afterall it is Hitler govt who orchestrated all the crimes while those who elected him sat on the sidelines and watched.

If you think the average Nazi is innocent, then so are the average Americans for the crimes of the state.

The real world is such that all citizens would have to face the consequences of their govt. See that it is a natural progression of the consequences of their own actions.

If there is no pain, what is the incentive to stop the subversive activities abroad? This is the self-correcting mechanism of the universe at play so that US does not cause too much chaos abroad.

Well technically it Zilenski that's more to blame for thinking he can trust the USA to provide the support he imagined, which didn't happen at his expectations. Zelinski was democratically elected, well I think the Ukraine should vote him out, or get him out by force for being so influenced by American ideology. And like I said in the past, Ukraine not arming itself with nukes, letting the UK/EU/NATO nuclear disarmament give them a false sense of security, they went along with it to let NATO deal with it. Well that didn't go well did it?😂

The US is not uniquely corrupt. It simply has more power to abuse because it has been so successful.

No third world country can instigate a coup against a first-world country because they have no power to do so. But they would if they could.

I'm sorry, but I do agree with Andrew that presidential debate was BS, and Trump won on rhetoric alone!

That is the corruption Trump caused. And he will cause much more if reelected.

Sure, and maybe because of the fall of the USSR, it's relative competitive peer and empire, USA just has nothing much to do due to it's technological superiority, tech power, number and advanced military as well. I have played enough Civ games to let you know that out of say a 6 player free for all, if it came down to last 3 or 2 players, the one civ with the massive advantage to science, research, and bigger army just wins long term or as time goes on, and usually most players especially in multiplier online quit. USA in reality doesn't have the option to quit, or idle, it has to invent worthy foes and enemies out there for America to stay relevant in this world.

Obama was born in 1961. JFK was assassinated in 1963.

Obama was great but even that’s a stretch for him. 🤠
