What can my path be to become an elected republican congressman?

10 posts in this topic

I am currently going back to school to get my masters in public policy. Also, I am volunteering for a political campaign currently for a republican running for office.

I would like to know what my path can currently be to become a congressman after I get my public policy degree. What should I do to win and get elected into office?

I would think you would have to develop mastery in public speaking, A highly charismatic personality, have all of your talking points ready at the tip of your tongue, Network as much as possible with influential people and grow a very large social media following,

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

Why Republican? What draws you to that party?

On the right:

Gain a moderate level of awareness
See several things your peers don't because of your awareness.

Gain the ability to answer questions quickly on the spot (debate).

Learn your district inside out, find what people are talking about, and then work out what people with money will also benefit from talking about. Only talk about things that correlate with both groups.

Gain some level of name recognition. Smile and shake a lot of hands.
Charm people who have money. Use that money to win.
Assemble a team that works on your public image, and advises you which talking points are doing well.

Sell out to your backers, but keep these talking points in mind, because you'll be more aware and capable than many of your peers.
Find which groups your base hate, and tell them you hate them too.

Make as much money as you can while you ride the wave.
Avoid scandals as long as possible. Merchandise whatever you can.
Retire to a cushy job.

@enchanted I agree with both parties but I lean more towards the right on their beliefs on certain issues and values.

@BlueOak This is good advice. Thank you and I have been getting my name out there. I've attended a fourth of July parade event and I was able to spread my name while volunteering for someone else as well.

@integral I agree I think networking is important. I have tried to network more by knowing who the head of the Republican Party is and now by volunteering for this organization.

If your aim is to steer the Republican Party away from MAGA extremism and back towards sanity and a respect for democratic norms, I wish you all the success in the world.

@DocWatts Thank you. My aim is to become the next Mike Johnson in politics. I want to be the Speaker of the House one day.
