Rupert Spira's argument against solipsism.

You really believe solipsism is true?

*Eyeballs rolling up*

The end

:D

But he spoke about the universal mind dreaming the entire existence at the end. That should make many solipsist here happy I believe.

I simply am. You simply are. We are The Same One forever. Let us join in Glory.

Solipsism don’t debunk physicalism, science admits the brain imagine compulsively everything.

I’ve heard the brain imagines the self too like a persistent hallucination have you heard that? Is the outside world imagined in the same way the self is?

Unfortunately solipsism is true .we all know that . Deep down . Just a question of do you have the balls to accept it .

Stop lying to yourself, "we" don't all "know"(you mean "believe") that. It's mostly you stuck mentally masturbating.

I don’t know what you mean by the last part but that’s fine. Someone said

”The simplest way to describe the sense of self would be that it's a illusion created by combined sense perceptions. So if we posit that brain runs the show, this would be it's way to simulate what it would be like to experience things. For the sake of improving survival maybe...who knows?  Obviously there's noone to know that there is a brain etc, but it sure does appear that way.”

I resonate with it

Not mental masturbation at all .

Just answer this :where is the world or other people when you are sleeping?  Isn't it obvious that everyone and everybody and everything takes place inside your consciousness?  And that if you lose consciousness everything disappears...should make you suspicious .

We will probably never know before actually dying :) but there is something extremely suspect in this paradigm.

It sound like everybody here takes a drug than make you enough aware to see how you made this reality and even manage your heart rate or things like that, then conclude « I am god ».

All these mirrors who each pretend to be god and in the same time say to other persons « you are god » (wtf, are you god or not, if you’re god other people aren’t) is extremely suspect in itself.

@Sugarcoat i saw it on drugs its like a doom character screen. A head constantly being held to know what your face is doing at any time. You have an idea of what you look like in your mind from mirror or pictures and you create a 3d model in your mind and hold it there to keep track of what your face is doing at any moment.

But you don't even have a face

I’m asking what kind of mindfuck ego death would be.
It would be like being an hypnotised theatre actor who recover his memory, and again in this example the actor is still into duality, just to another awareness. it’s unimaginable.

I can't say that others physically exist, my brain could be in a matrix, but that doesn't change the figments of consciousness that appear in my stream.

It's like someone saying that a character that ChatGPT is playing is actually him, and ChatGPT tells you: "Oh, no, they are just characters. And for I, I'm just a large language model that takes inputs and outputs textual tokens".

Does that make ChatGPT any less real? I mean, we literally know it doesn't exist as a person.

The ego isn't an "unreal", its merely a fabrication, and humans traditionally are capable of perceiving that fabrication with the appropriate mental views and practices. Just the same way that others are merely a fabrication. There isn't me, and there isn't them as something that's not fabricated conceptually.

That talk he made is so naive.

What is other? What is mind? What is my mind?

Even my mind is comprised by different elements I can perceive, and they are just as real as the elements I can perceive of other minds: I can read their writings, I can hear their voices, and see them. But I can also see my own body, hear my own voice.

But, the entity that I call "I" is just OF THE SAME NATURE as all other entities that I ascribe any meaning to.

Fundamentally, all that we traditionally say exist, does really exist.

But, the nature we fundamentally give to it, isn't quite so romantic.

I can't hear someone else's thoughts, be on someone else's body... And that's just that, I simply don't perceive that part, and I can't possibly ascertain their existence.

It's just a stream of data following, some of that data is what we traditionally call me (as a person) and some of it are of other conceptual entities, they are just as conceptual as the parts of that stream I perceive.

There are others. But... The fundamental nature of them is one where we take for granted our conceptual understanding.

But... Fundamentally, all of that exists are figments of consciousness like Leo would describe, and those build help build up conceptual understanding of the phenomena behind it. But we can't possibly say what they are.

No you can know it in this life right here right now . Just by realising that you are LITERALLY imagining everything that is not in your direct experience right now .

Yes, it what I’ve said.

The difference is that Solipsism tacitly supposes that there is no differences between relative and absolute truth.

Not "your" consciousness, just consciousness, assigning ownership is an extra mental level that keeps you in the dark.

I don't lose consciousness, more like consciousness loses the idea of a body and all mental stories associated with it.
