Idk why I'm fascinated by Islam

Yeah, I used to be like most people here, and I still think its a valid approach, just taking what I like from each religion without following the dogma, now I am thinking that each religion can be a vehicle for transformation if applied right, like there are many stages, you can do blue Islam, green Islam, Yellow Islam, etc. until you transcend the religion at some point.
Of course, most people take their religion as inheritance, never thinking about it, and take it as absolute truth, they never bother about using it to grow.

So here is the correct way to choose a religion: not as absolute truth, but rather, you find the principles and values of the religion right for you, so you can choose it, and follow it wisely as a tool of transformation.
All religions have a mystical aspect (Sufism, Hesychasm, Vedanta, Buddhism in general, maybe especially Vajrayana)
and they also have a dogmatic aspect

This is an MMORPG, choose one of those classes, or choose none and take what you like from each.

Since we are talking about Islam, Muhammed said:

“Seek the verdict from your heart and follow it, even if thousands of muftis declare verdicts against it.”

You are feeling a closeness to Islam (me too recently, as an Arab ex-Muslim), I would say go for it, just stay away from Salafism because they have become mainstream in last 100 years, and don't get attached to the religion or take it as absolute truth.

Symbolic interpterion also applies for many things if you go by Ash'ari theology school.

If you wanna get into Sufism, start with basics:

1. The Quran

2. Revival of Religious sciences (basics of Islam + Sufism)

3. The bezels of wisdom, Al-Futuhat al-Makkiyya (Ibn Arabi, the man)

Big books so take your time

The wisest choice, but also a challenging one to follow.

i have a question..if you investigate direct experience..is it true that Allah created you or you created Allah ?

Because like I said in OP I'm passing the point of completely accepting my sovereign godhood.  I'm conscious that I'm the source of all of existence. I project It out of eyeballs . And Allah is something I'm imagining.  At the same time I need to surrender to a higher power..but how can I do that if I know that I'm the only thing in existence ?

Could simply be your cultural background. You said you where raised in a Hindu household so I assume your Indian. There are many Muslims in that region of the world and Muslim values could have peculated into common culture, so when you desire to explore a religion, Islam comes most naturally to you.

Many of our values in the west are christian in origins. I've have myself thought about exploring Christianity as a religion most likely just because it is adjacent to my current culture as a religion.

Yup I'm Indian. It just all started with accidently watching Mecca live channel and seeing Muslims doing their Islamic practices and then I read the quran and  it so appealed to me .

I've also studied the new testament and it's beautiful .but I don't believe Jesus is God. Nor the hindu gods .

Hinduism seems so mythological and abstract to me. I know very little of it, so do I know very little of Islam but I at least get the gist of Islam (there's one god, etc.). It is much more focused and straightforward in essence.

Nonsense.

Mainstream Islam would say Allah created you, but in Sufism, ONLY Allah exists, you are a mere manifestation of his existence

Analogy: Allah looks in a mirror, you as an individual is the reflection, you certainly contain an essence of Allah, you don't exist without him.

That's basically the sufi thought, look up "wahdat al wujud" or "unity of being"

In sufism, you devote yourself to Allah until at some point you unite with allah, and continue blissing in love with the divine.

So your prayer at your point should be about feeling love and melting in love with Allah, however you define or perceive Allah.

Think of it like, Bhakti yoga, you devote yourself to a deity so hard, until you basically reach non dual bhakti.

The answer lies in the feeling evoked when praying to different gods, whether it's the same or something different each time.

That's the thing, regardless of being the sovereign source of your experience, are you aware of how you do it? Allah is told to know all its forms, dimensions and the intelligence he uses to construct them, including the nature, scope and origin of imagination that tunes you into this realm and enables your connection to all knowledge, intuition and insight. Can you access that? Do you create worlds? Do you have the wisdom to harmonize them? Can you dematerialize yourself into pure energy and travel the cosmos? Does your everyday imagination equal the scope of your experienced reality? If no, then you have much to learn and you can choose to surrender and learn through Allah all that is beyond your autonomous awareness

@Someone here Oh how I wish! All I know is how little I know, I'll gladly join you on the quest to find the next person

In the meantime, this is exactly what I am exploring, currently through Sadhguru and Seth, though I am about to brainstorm all philosophies and cultures for pointers, rituals and technologies, and release karma to intensify my psychedelic trips but its a process

All religion is silly and unneeded once you realize that you are God, 100%, no bars held.

But Sufism is cool. They understand non duality and it’s a branch of Islam. Check out Sufi mystics.

I would avoid becoming a Muslim. Not worth it

@Someone here In my view religion itself is completely unnecessary and will create stories and concepts that might not help in pursuit of the divine. Religious texts are so full of contradictions and bullshit mostly though there is wisdom to be found if you are mature and conscious enough to cut through

However I did grow up in a semi Christian family so I understand about the religious qualities. As someone who is spiritual but not religious I do see the profundity in the teachings of Jesus. He was a highly spiritual person very attuned to the divine. I don’t know if Muhammad was quite as spiritually connected as Jesus but that is a bias on my part as I do not know so much about Islam.

What is nice about religion is the community side that you don’t get from being a solo spiritual seeker but that I would say is the best way to come face to face with the divine. Before there was Islam there was no Islam. It is made up by people that interpreted the message of solo spiritual seekers and then it got passed down generation after generation

To truly follow in the path of Jesus or Muhammad is to be a solo spiritual seeker. It is your universe to discover and your goal is to clear your mind of all concepts and stories until you are left with the essence of reality.

Tbh if Jesus suddenly came back from the dead he’d probably say to those with their head stuck in the bible wtf are you doing? The divine cannot be found in the nature of thought and concepts but in the present moment
