Sneaky argument for black pill and entirely genes.

   I have mixed feelings about this post, and I do feel I disagree more with this:

   My reasoning is that even with good genetics, will power, drive, passion and desire goes a long way. Even if you started in a bad spot, just like in Unciv or in civilization 5 game, you had to make your first capital next to desert or tundra and some hills with little food points, maybe you lucky it's a coastal capital, and even if you settled on a hill next to a mountain and river tile, surrounded with green hills and grasslands for great growth and all that, I think it's the desire and will power and passion that drives and fuels that growth, population, production, gold generation, all that. I think to downplay that aspect for some alien level consciousness is both a bit reductionist and devalues humanity like that. It's a very subtle and sneaky way to argue for black pill ideology and to argue a nihilistic determinism there.

There is no argument being made that you can't improve your condition with hard work and willpower but you'll never outrun a cheetah. A cheetah's "genetic floor" is so beyond you that it is impossible to compete in terms of running speed. If you where born retarded and needed 24/7 care then you wouldn't even be able to make this post. The fact you can think about this stuff and are presumably healthy means you have relatively good genes. It is really just the observation that genetics determine what you could call your "genetic floor" and "genetic ceiling". The average person is far away from their "genetic ceiling".

It is about appreciating when things are out of your control. It is not binary, you can self-improve in most cases but you'll never out-lift a gorilla.

And to be honest, if your take away on a discussion on the limits of genetics is "what is the point in trying then?", then that kind off betrays a lack of nuance in your thinking.

   Sure, in the context of nature and evolution yes Cheetahs are faster than hominids, maybe faster than Big Foot and most humans on average may not lift heavier than gorillas. However, in the context of Unciv and Civilization 5, even if I had a less optimal capital placement, not as much food/production/gold/science/culture, with some perseverance, wisdom and knowledge even I could win war battles against military that's ahead in technology. I'm just making an observation that black pills will jump on Leo's genetic takes and agree way more, when it's in a spectrum.

   And yes, Jesus Christ maybe a gifted genetic spiritual master with super healing powers and other paranormal abilities, he's considered The Son of God for a good reason, not that all are sons of god, just one is privileged and ordained to be his only son, just cuz super healing, reversing leprosies, curing blindness, walking on water, cursing a tree to wilt, these are specially only to Jesus Christ.

   Sure, yes if you factor in genetic diversity, evolution, mutations, and genetic dilution, which is why bloodlines and lineages and ancestry is a bit overrated. If it was the opposite, then the children of William Shakespeare would be better poets than William by default, and may get better with poetry training.

Sounds like black pillers latch unto this kind of geneticism because they think it affirms their beliefs.

Two things can be true at the same time. Your genes are fundamental to much if not most of your ability to interact with life but great effort is also needed actualize on your potential. It doesn't mean to stop trying.
